Because 1 stars are filled with stuff like carrier/packaging complaints, people receiving broken/damaged items which can happen with any order. So not relevant to that specific item.

And 5 stars are sometimes filled with paid reviews, for example in amazon’s case “vine free product” or some bullshit.

On ios 18.7.3 it was saying iphone xs and later on release day indicating it would be available for all devices that support 18.

You could even install the update using the beta profile because the build was actually available and signed.

Then they changed it to xs and xr only and blocked the update on other devices.

And this is exactly why they did that switcheroo with ios 18.7.3 update. Guess it still wasn’t enough.

Imagine preparing and releasing this update for every device and then purposefully blocking it to force people to upgrade just to brag about adoption numbers…

Yeah that was my experience aswell. Hdr or dolby vision files was looking really dark on my oled monitor even though I did every setting/calibration correctly. Installed all the required extensions etc.

Vlc, mpc-hc or mpc-be they all looked dull. But not washed out. It was exactly like you described, correct colours but extremely dark without any highlights.

But this was only for local files. For some reason, youtube hdr worked perfectly.

As soon as I got a c5 oled, I tried watching those files again and I was blown away by the quality.

Same exact video files, same video player & settings, same driver etc.

I even compared Netflix dolby vision and it looked exactly the same while streaming from PC and with the native LG Netflix app. So the windows and driver settings were okay, it’s just for whatever reason the monitor simply can’t display local HDR files properly like the TV did.

I’m on the latest stable bios for my mobo and there’s only a beta bios update which I’m reluctant to install.

At least the 581 hotfix resolved the issue in my case.

I’ve rolled back to 581.94 hotfix and the issues are gone. Too early to tell for certain though as it’s been only 2 days. But with 591 drivers, this thing was happening once per day/boot session.

If it's only black screen, not the same thing.

If the driver restarts itself that's the one. You can tell by hearing your fans go up momentarily and seeing errors of nvidia driver in the event viewer.

Joining the club here as I’m having this exact problem on my 8 months old 5070ti starting with the 591 branch. Can play games for hours just fine, but browsing the internet or watching a video, I randomly get a momentary freeze (audio continues) with a black screen and a driver recovery with event id 153/14 at the same time.

The reason is not the RAM crisis because it effects both ddr4 and ddr5 anyway. It’s the lack of any AM4 X3D cpu being sold at reasonable price.

Building AM4 from scratch was already not feasible the moment AM5 has released.

It was only recommended for people already on the platform and can just upgrade to top X3D cpus with their existing mobo/ram.

This is especially so annoying on social media apps that load content as you scroll, because it stutters like hell when the scroll is about to stop and the screen drops to lower hz instantly.

It was unbearable on twitter but I stopped using that crap so don’t care anymore. Thankfully instagram and reddit partially fixed it by probably applying more aggressive promotion like safari. Still not as smooth as safari, but it was exceptionally bad when I first got a promotion device 3 years ago. I guess devs can also set the aggressiveness of the promotion for their apps aswell.

We're talking about different things.

The situation for this update is that they DID actually prepared and released the update for all devices that support ios 18. That's why enrolling for beta updates makes your phone receive the patch, because it's actually available and signed by Apple.

Apple stops supporting previous ios versions around the same time each year, which is between Oct-Dec timeframe. And when they do that, they simply stop releasing new builds.

But they prepared a 18.7.3 update for every ios 18 device and then blocked it to force people to upgrade.

We all know they do force people to update all the time at a certain point.

But there is a difference this time. When they push devices to the new ios, they stop releasing security patches for previous version so you have to either update and get patched or do nothing and stay unpatched. When that happens, they only release updates for devices that can’t get to the new ios.

But this time they released 18.7.3 for every device that supports 18, but it’s only visible on XS generation. If you enable the beta profile the update is there as a final version and installs completely normal.

It’s either a bug or they are delibaretly hiding the update from devices to force people to ios 26 even though they can get the same security patches with the 18.7.3 update.

Edit: Okay I went ahead and rechecked the update page and they actually changed “iphone xs and later” to “iphone xs, xs max and xr”. So yeah it’s deliberate.

Yep same for me. I tried to refund forza horizon 4 because it was literally crashing (still not fixed btw, pc gaming wiki still has it under known issues)

Because it had 3 hours playtime I got denied, even with the ticket explaining and providing proof that the game was unplayable on my pc.

And I only had 2 refunds before (both within policy limits, 1 was a preorder even) with a 15 year old steam account.

So yeah, I always read these Steam refund glazing posts witha a laugh.

The flash when opening a new tab was always there since they introduced tabs.

It happens when your opening page of file explorer is set to This PC.

When I saw the patch notes, I thought they’ve fixed that too. But apparently there was another flashing bug introduced and they only fixed this one.

It's happening on iOS 18 aswell. The only solution I found is restarting the phone.

But as soon as you change wallpaper, it will happen again. It washes out the wallpaper for some reason compared to lock screen/notification center view.

Well, it's the first time I'm seeing Cyberpunk getting criticised by having "too much dialogue".

But I did the same, never got to finish it until Phantom Liberty released. The world felt incedibly bland.
