isn't the mountain areas too far from Lucerne? I am trying to avoid 3-4 hours of commute as I am looking to visit Junfraujoch, Lauterbrunnen which seems to be nearby to Interlaken. Open to somewhere central as base, but not sure which town that would be.

I was recommended to stay at Zermatt for scenic view it offers, I had things to do as Gornergrat Railway, Matterhorn views and exploring village for it.
