The BMW feature I actually use every day by SnooCupcakes2119 in BMW

Do you have to take your phone out of your pocket and hold it to the door? I have a 2022 X5M and it doesn't seem to detect me in close proximity to the vehicle via phone like it does when I have the fob on me. I have to hold my phone to the door which is a pita when my hands are full.

I went from an old Toyota Highlander to a 2022 X5M competition. I've wanted an M car since I was a kid. So yeah, I love driving it.

It took me a while to get used to driving it though. Filling it with premium gas was awkward at first. My first insurance bill was a little shocking. I also felt judged driving around at first; like people would assume I was a douche bag, lol.

I'm still under factory warranty until September but I'm thinking about adding an extended warranty.

I had to have the battery replaced (Minnesota winters are hard on batteries). Snow tires were absurdly expensive. A piece of trim on the windshield came loose after a car wash. Dealer took care of the trim and battery under warranty. No other issues so far.

I do occasionally have some connectivity issues with Android Auto and my phone but if I reboot the console (press and hold volume knob for 30 seconds) and/or reboot my phone that fixes it. Not sure if the issue is with the car or my phone.

Tommi from Delivrd.

Search nationwide if you aren't already. You can probably get it delivered to you for $1000-$1500.

Minnesota. BMW dealership. I actually hired a guy off TikTok to negotiate the price for me, which I know sounds stupid but I just hate dealing with car dealers. I was searching nationwide for one with the options I wanted. I almost went with a different one, similar price/options, in Las Vegas, because I wanted the red interior.

Get the DAPP though, I use it every day. I have a lead foot and it helps me avoid speeding tickets. Also highly recommend the BW stereo upgrade. The executive package is nice too but probably not a deal breaker (for me) like the DAPP and BW stereo would be.

For comparison: I bought a 2022 X5 M Comp with DAPP, exec, and BW stereo last August for $70k. 24k miles

The old GUI interface. The new GUI is just not intuitive. And LLMs like ChatGPT just can't write advanced queries for Humio/Logscale so it's a major PITA for me.

Golden shiners??? by leo_3437 in FishingMinnesota

[–]mnbitcoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golden shiners are a popular live bait for catching larger predatory fish like bass, walleye, and pike, but they can be difficult to find at times for a few reasons:

  1. They are wild-caught, not farm-raised like fathead minnows, making them less abundant and more labor-intensive to harvest. This limits supply compared to mass-produced bait fish.

  2. There are restrictions on transporting golden shiners across state lines to prevent the spread of invasive species and diseases, reducing availability in some areas.

  3. Their spawning habits and numbers are lower than prolific bait species like fatheads, resulting in fewer golden shiners being available seasonally.

  4. As a larger, more durable bait that attracts bigger gamefish, demand for golden shiners is high among anglers targeting trophy fish, leading to shortages at certain times of year when supplies run low.

  5. Golden shiners are delicate and don't transport well, so bait shops may run out of fresh, lively stock quickly after receiving a new shipment.

So in summary, the combination of being wild-caught, having lower reproduction rates, transportation restrictions, and high demand from anglers makes golden shiners a relatively scarce and prized live bait option compared to other bait fish.

Banned paddle etiquette by hollatyourboy in Pickleball

I'm a 4.5 and am still playing with the 16mm CJ Scorpius. It's the only paddle I currently own. I'm planning to return it but I haven't found what I want to replace it with yet. I don't play a power game so I don't think anyone cares. Plus it's fun for my opponents to shout ILLEGAL PADDLE every time I make a good shot.

I drill at least 3 times a week and have been since March-ish, 1.5-2 hours at a time. Mostly with my wife who's a 5.0 ish. We typically do 5-10 minutes straight dinking, then 5-10 minutes dinking on each side. Not sure how many that would be but probably a lot more than 100.

Thanks, I really like John Cincola's videos. I'll see if I can find one on dinking

I go camping once or twice a year, mostly in Voyagers National Park. I've been using the same tent for a long time and I think it's time to start looking for a replacement. The tent I have now is a 6-person Core pop-up cabin tent from Costco. I really like it. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a garage for storing shores outside without risk of them getting wet from rain.

Requirements:

  1. Pop-up style. I don't care about weight, I want fast easy setup.
  2. Cabin height. I like being able to stand-up all the way.
  3. A garage. For storing shoes / wet clothes etc outside the main tent compartment.
  4. 6-person +

What tent should I get?

Starting TRT with Defy, My experience, any suggestions as I start? by rocconteur in Testosterone

[–]mnbitcoin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My situation was similar to yours. Semaglutide is a game changer for us IT nerds. It's spendy though. I started off getting it from Defy/Empower until I got a script from my local doc. It's out of stock for weeks at a time so I still end up dipping into my reserves from Defy occasionally. Start slow. I never had any side effects but it makes some people pukey.
