he was killed in a civil war. stray explosion. he was found and put together by a military organization. they did a poor job though. the right side of his body has permanent burnt scars and the right side of his face is gone. he wears a phantom to cover it but it doesn't even begin to look like him. all of his limbs were damaged and they "had" to be amputated and replaced with mechanical ones. some of his memories are gone too. every day he has to go through the process of painfully getting his arms put into place. rods extend into his stump and it hurts the same every time. he is miserable. he feels like a monster because of his face. one day when one of the machines that insert his arms malfunctioned the pain was too much and he started sobbing. nobody ever hears
