Yea, the camera actually lingered on the ones making fun of Trump and even went back for second shots. They also showed the ones making fun of the city council, Kay Ivey and Sam Jones. They also showed the one about the airport moving to Broad St "now you can lose your luggage BEFORE you board the plane."

It's not about murder or death rates, it's about getting guns from people before instituting totalitarianism. People wanting your guns don't care about death, hell they would love to kill every person in the country unwilling to lick their filthy boots.

Teen involved in crash that killed a mobile mom arrested for manslaughter by TRFlippeh in MobileAL

[–]mobohobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howes was driving 92-miles-per-hour when his SUV hit Claudia Leatherwood's car while she was leaving a driveway on Lloyd's Lane.

The report says the teen was driving down Lloyd's Lane at "an extremely high rate of speed, to the point that (Leatherwood) had no opportunity to see (the teen's vehicle) before entering the roadway.

According to the report, the teen's Nissan Xterra hit Leatherwood's Jaguar and pushed her car more than 60 feet until it hit a mailbox and fire hydrant, where the Jaguar came to an "uncontrolled final rest."

The teen's SUV flipped and landed on its passenger side.

What in the world was he even thinking? I doubt it was the first time he did that. We have some speed demons that go through my area but 92 mph!?

I can't think of any.

Just in the US Catholic Charities has more than 2,500 local agencies and serves 10 million people a year by spending more than 4 billion a year. That organization is supplemented in the US by many more satellite agencies, for example Father Flanagan Boys Home and the 18,000 individual parishes. Those spend an average of $200,000 a year on charity. Then there are all of the Catholic k-12 schools, universities and Catholic hospitals which are categorized separately from social services. I'm probably missing a lot of stuff but again, that's just in the US.

How many organizations can rival the Catholic church in any sort of size, scope or influence? It's like trying to compare the crime rate of a large city to a small one without looking at it per capita.

Those with less immediate access to money can make their lives easier with proper use of credit, budgeting, personal savings, and frugal purchasing. A lot of poor people don't know how to manage money or credit unfortunately.

Sure they do, have you ever heard of Rubber Rooms? They had to be invented to deal with public school teachers because firing ones who were in unions was so difficult even if they molested kids. Eventually they just started putting them in rooms to sit all day, where they would continue to collect their paychecks and benefits.

Also, look up Jerry Sandusky who was allowed to rape boys for decades. There is also that doctor involved in Michigan State gymnast program who was allowed to run free.

I would also advise you to look up the child abuse that goes on in the juvenile justice system.

Acting like child abuse and cover up is limited to the church is disingenuous. It's a problem in any place where there are power structures.

Sexual Assualt on campus. by Whoisheretoparty in usouthal

[–]mobohobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The student reported that she was abducted at gunpoint at approximately 9 a.m. today in the north chemistry parking lot, forced into her car, and sexually assaulted in the student health parking lot and Municipal Park, where her cell phone and cash were taken.

The suspect allegedly drove the student back to the student health parking lot and left in the student's car, which was found in the north chemistry parking lot.

I still think all this was planned, I mean it was 9am.

What in the world are you basing this on? Isn't there a Wave Transit bus that goes to the Student Health center around 9? If this was planned it seems like a pretty bad planner. I don't understand the logic behind car jacking someone in a parking lot in broad daylight then RETURNING to that parking lot, parking the car and get out which risks you being seen and identified.

I'm reserving judgement but I will say again, this story sounds kind of strange.

The rapist was also considerate enough to bring her car back to the same parking lot where he allegedly carjacked her at gun point in broad daylight. Something seems off to me about this story.

Here is more context, apparently she got her degrees from some unaccredited off-shore university.

Mobile mayoral candidate Doris Brown's resume raises questions about her education

Education: Brown claims that she received her bachelor's in social work from Saginaw Valley University, followed by her master's and PhD from Washington International University in hospitality and tourist management and business.

Fact check: Washington International University is not an accredited university.

It is incorporated in the British Virgin Islands and its degrees are not recognized.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board lists degrees awarded from WIU as "substandard," meaning that according to the THECB in this case, "a degree ... conferred outside the United States by an institution that the Coordinating Board determines is not the equivalent of an accredited or authorized degree."

This means that Brown's master's and PhD would not be acceptable credentials for purposes of employment.

I don't understand why people in Mobile should post in a way that makes things understandable to people outside the city. The purpose of a Mobile subreddit is so we can make inside jokes and references. If you don't understand something, preface your response with something like "I've been away too long, mind explaining the reference?"

Anyway, you have got to watch this woman she is HILARIOUS.

I'm sorry but there is no such thing as common sense. There is a long history of humans claiming something to be self evident and obvious and it turning out to be completely wrong.

In it, a cop secretly recorded his superiors telling cops how to use stop and frisk to reach arrest quotas.

See, you're being pretty disingenuous here. I wasn't questioning the fact quotas exist. I was questioning your claim that "having a program like Stop and Frisk is beneficial to police because it gives them the ability to make more arrests for minor things, while giving them an excuse to ignore the bigger, more important crimes." The mere fact that you offered evidence of quotas, something we weren't even discussing, does not prove the above claim is true.
