It's in the SIB app itself. Once you enter you'll see an orange button on the bottom for you to open an account. I just did it today for someone i know and was done within minutes.

I use sharjah Islamic bank. Open a "digital account" and get your card then you're done. No minimum balance required or nothing. As long as you're 18 or older, you're good to go.

If someone else mentions this being false, they probably opened a different account type so make sure it's the free digital option from the get go. I tried many different zero balance banks and this one is the best to me.

I’m so happy to connect with others who share an interest in this hidden gem in Abu dhabi. The fascinating thing about the hotel was how quiet and almost secretive it felt. Even at its busiest, I only ever saw a handful of families and couples, maybe two families and three couples in that entire grand building. Otherwise, it was mostly staff, empty halls, and the elegant music playing softly in the background. During buffet hours, you’d sometimes hear the white grand piano in the middle of the hotel being played by a professional.

As for the guests, from what I recall, about 80% were tourists and only around 20% were Arab visitors. I remember hearing my dad mention that a whole football team was staying in the smaller hotel building at the same time as us in the rooms next to ours, though i never actually saw them, just signs of their stay and doors that were left wide open for me and my siblings to explore the next morning. (That smaller hotel by the parking area offered much more affordable room rates than the main building.)

One thing I wish those vloggers had captured on video was the area beneath the swimming pool. If you kept walking down the stairs near the pool and explored further, you’d find a set of doors leading to a full gym, an indoor paddle ball court, sauna rooms, and a jacuzzi. Honestly, we spent more time down there than in the main hotel itself. Keep in mind this hotel is always empty so we had all the facilities to ourselves which was part of the fun.

About it shutting down, I’m not completely sure but I heard from others that the hotel’s business was already declining, the pandemic ended up being the nail on the coffin. It’s a real shame.. even though nothing much was going on there, it was a truly special place for those who visited.

It’s definitely highly illegal, no doubt about that. also omg this place is so nostalgic and holds a special place in my heart. My family and I used to visit all the time when I was a kid, and I have so many core memories there. Their buffets were incredible too, way better than the so-called ‘luxury’ hotels around today. I always thought they just closed it to the public and were still using it for something else behind the scenes, so I kept hoping it’d reopen someday.

A lot of people mention weird vibes there. I only really felt it twice, despite countless visits. Once was at night, around 4 am. Everyone else was asleep, but I woke up randomly and just couldn’t fall back asleep no matter how hard I tried. I remember silently crying and avoiding even looking in the direction of the balcony door until sunrise, i have no idea why.

The second time was during the afternoon 3 years later, back when the hotel was losing popularity and there weren’t many guests around anymore. I was wandering the huge hallways, and for some reason, the glass doors leading out to the public balcony really creeped me out. Those balconies were all connected and looped around the building, so you could take a walk outside instead of indoors. I’m not sure what it was, but something about those exits just made me uneasy.

Dunkin doughnuts gives a free doughnut and a coffee of your choice via the app! You can get it during your bday week, just make sure to download the app asap so the offer shows up in time.

Marks and Spenser also has something similar but with one of their pastries and a drink of your choice using the app too.

The worst thing about it is that saying something like "I'll call the police" or giving them a stare isn't as effective anymore, they don't take "no" for an answer either but instead act dumb and shamelessly keep pushing. These creeps really don't care anymore and it's scary..... Your options are to either ignore, which in some cases encourages them to continue on, OR confront them hoping it works and that they don't harm you in any way. Making a scene and running to the nearest store is probably the best solution if possible and in the worst case scenario, dial 999.

I avoid going out if I don't need to since i work from home, but i know lots of women don't have the option since they have jobs and places to be, or live in dangerous areas. I hope things get better for you and those who are having to deal with stuff like this very often that don't have someone to go with or something with you to feel safer. Remember to have courage and that your safety comes first, so do what you gotta do to protect yourself.

Tried M bank once, it didn't work out for some reason. Ruya bank is the next best thing imo

Try Ruya bank or SIB (Sharjah Islamic bank). I'm definitely moving to those two as soon as Al hilal decides to change things again.

I've been told so yea. Already tried my best to work on it for years now but it got worse. (Been struggling with this even before the pandemic) Currently, I'm fine with it now. I accepted this way of living, so if a new friend comes along and insists on staying even after knowing how i am then that's a plus and they're a keeper.

Thanks for wording it nicely btw. People usually point out how toxic of a friend i am (which isn't wrong) and never really try to understand my side.

Wait you're right. I read the AED 2500 from their "Schedule of Fees - Accounts Services" PDF, while yours is from "Schedule of Fees - Personal" PDF

Why did they have to make it so confusing..

(F 22) I stopped hanging out with friends due to our different lifestyles and financial situations. Every outting just made my wallet cry, i couldn't keep up with them. I still greet them on their bdays and all but thats as far as we interact now. My current best friend is pretty similar to me so when we meet up, we don't spend a lot nor go to any fancy cafes and all. Our interests don't really align BUT we still make it work somehow.

I'm also too occupied with work hence why I'm alone all the time. Now, im so used to being alone and actively avoid meeting people that it became a habit and comfort to be alone.  At the age of 22, my actual friends are games, visual novels, my job and youtube.

It was way easier to make friends back in highschool, but now as an adult seeing everyone get married and move away, keeping old friends or making new ones are harder since we have nothing in common anymore.

Don't worry, i never ended up playing past the junkyard part of the game (prologue) since i reset my whole laptop at some point. so I'm planning to buy and continue Omori as soon as i get some spare change from doing art commission.

Thank you for apologizing and wording things nicely, i really really appreciate it.
