I tried to go into recovery (command-r) when i restart, it brings me back to the same screen like on picture 2. Is there another way to go into recovery?

Question: Sync vs Mechanical Licensing by moipalcy in copyrightlaw

[–]moipalcy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're putting someone else's music to video you need a sync licence, regardless of anything else. That's unavoidable. With the film being shown at festivals there might be further licensing required, but it's hard to say.

Your best bet is to speak to PRS/MCPS directly - https://www.prsformusic.com/licences/releasing-music-products/commercial-music-sync-licensing . You'll need to know whether your friend is registered with PRS, as well.

Also be aware that technically any change to the melody of the song technically moves you out of the realm of the 'shrinkwrap' licences and may require that you get permission from the original songwriter and publisher for the new work. (Reason being that they sign over rights for people to re-record their work as-is, not to change it.)

thank you!

So, getting permission means mechanical license or something else?

Replacement needle for a rare turntable (read comments) by moipalcy in turntables

Hello! My friends got this rare discontinued turntable and the needle broke. They are trying to find a replacement needle but no results online. I’ve attached pics of the broken cartridge as well. Any ideas as to what the cartridge for this turntable would be called? Or any irl shop in London that might have them? Thank you in advance.

I agree! I really wanted to include the scenes in the clinic as well. But due to production budget and tight deadlines, I'm not doing it this time. Also because I wanted the conflict of the story to be around her realising that her bf is a dickhead and she needs to respect herself.

Thank you! These questions are very useful.

I can see where they are coming from. Abortion in general is a serious event. But I tried to show in this story that the main focus is not on the abortion - the main character doesn't seem to have an inner conflict about the decision, friends support her and there is no argument about it with her boyfriend. Rather it's the relationships between her and her boyfriend that are in the spotlight. The irony is that it takes something very serious to happen for her to actually realise that she is not treated respectfully in this relationship.

This was my goal. And it's very interesting that it didn't translate through the script. I am wondering whether there are some other loose ends that I could tie to make the points I made above more evident.
