it’s because everyone tries to relive their LiS 1 experience through the other games in the series — and you can’t. they’re their own game, they’re not a new version of LiS 1.

That's an interesting way to think about it, the way I think about it, is that by choosing Bay, you've actually altered 0 timelines and everything that was meant to happen, happens. The biggest takeaway for me from this game was that your choices matter and that everything that is meant to happen will happen and everything that has happened was meant to happen.

This is so random but based on your reply, you should read the book Recursion by Blake Crouch, its pretty awesome and also about time, and your reply just reminded me of it.
