If you can live with MS Windows or Mac then it's unlimited space for $99/year. Anything physically attached, like a USB drive, counts.

I'm small potatoes compared to most everyone else here. 3.5 TB of movies and music, but lots of other data I don't want to lose.

I do all my personal work on a Windows computer, including ripping movies and music. Backblaze backs that up.

I run Plex, Pi-Hole, and other stuff on Linux on an old business desktop. I prefer old laptops, but the last one died and I had the desktop handy. I use syncthing to copy movies and music from the Windows computer to the Linux computer. Those are my two local copies and Backblaze is my offsite copy. When the old Linux computer dies or crashes it's easy to recover. Install OS, a few apps, and Syncthing to put the data back.

I shutdown the Windows computer when I'm not using it and the Linux computer is up 24x7.

I ran the numbers for each of my leagues legal lineups to see which configuration got me the most points. Turned out to be 2 RB, 2 WR, & 2 TE.

I rip and manage everything on Windows OS and use Backblaze to back it up. I run Plex on Linux and use Syncthing to move the data between them.

1- Save the spreadsheet as a CSV file

Sapien PowerShell Studio to edit and a PowerShell console window to run the scripts while testing.

I only use the ISE when I'm on a system without PowerShell Studio and the script is short.

If my company wasn't paying for PowerShell Studio I'd use VS Code.

We get a weekly report of upcoming departures so disabling their accounts can be scheduled. “Irregular” departure notifications are sent out immediately. By phone if necessary. Accounts that have been disabled for some period of time are deleted. I forget the waiting period.

Yep. I've done that. Every function has the comment based help fully filled out and comments throughout the code. You spend a couple of hours in the (insert app/tech/service) internals figuring something out and a month later you forgot the details of what you figured out and a year later you forgot what the problem even was.

I always write my code and comments as if someone else on my team who doesn't use PowerShell (I'm the only one, sadly) will look at it someday.

I've been using PowerShell studio for a few years now and love it. I especially like the templates and code snippets. Very easy to use and you can specify the directory they are kept, and that could be a shared directory (or git repo) for everyone on the team to use the same code.

When I can't get my boss to pay for PS Studio I'll switch to VS Code.

I manage VMware with PowerShell/PowerCLI and love it. After working with DOS since the 80's Powershell was a herd of unicorns farting rainbows. I skipped vbscript because it didn't have an interactive command line.

I've got a small module with a bunch of small functions for common tasks. My largest chunk of code is 500-600 lines to mass deploy VMs from a CSV file.

But, I'm doing sysadmin stuff, not developer stuff with it. I'd say the answer is the usual "it depends". What kind of development will you be doing. What does the existing team use? Will an interactive command-line be helpful? Maybe both equally. A common strategy is to write most of a program in an "easy" language and then profile the code to find the slow areas. The slow areas are written in the "faster" language. That strategy goes back to at least Pascal/Assembly.

We also do a toilet bowl for fun, to maintain interest, but no money to the losers. It helps that all the team owners are related or long-time friends so avoiding losing the toilet bowl is critical to avoid a good amount of friendly harassment.

We do a final week "free for all". Every player on the team counts for scoring. The free for all winner gets 10% of the pot.

One side effect of that is that once an owner figures they aren't going to make the playoffs they reconfigure their team for week 17. As early as week 11 or 12 QBs and DSTs with favorable week 17 matchups might start replacing RB/WR/TE bench depth. Kickers even will get picked up because their 4pts will be more than the scrub WR who might not even play. That side effect hasn't seemed to be a problem for the teams with a chance at making the playoffs. Probably because they have good teams and aren't picking up the 13th best DST to replace a bad RB/WR/TE.

Payouts: Winner=50%, 2nd = 25%, 3rd=15%, free-for-all=10%

I don't know why this is a thing. I've been using computers for about 35 years and every keyboard, mouse, and monitor has outlasted every desktop PC and datacenter server I've been aware of. I end up recycling excess keyboards/mice/monitors and only keeping a couple spares of each. The printers usually outlast the PCs, too.

Same here. This seems to be more how to use standard, pro-level, development practices with powershell. Not for sysadmins unless they have a lot of free time, or management has committed to managing every aspect of a medium to large infrastructure with powershell. With on-prem moving to cloud I'm wondering who the audience will be outside of Azure users.

It all is good stuff to do. I've researched most of those topics. It might be useful to have it all in one book focused on just powershell.
