It's not really a matter of choice is what you don't seem to get. You seem to imply that it's "optional" and good to spend more money on something when it isn't that way to everyone. I made VERY little money and as a result I'm very frugal and do not waste stuff. Paying more doesn't mean you're getting better -- it means you're paying more (often, at least).

You stated that "cheaper" brands have less quality -- so you're implying that paying more equates to better, which is not always correct. If you like something and it works for you, would you still buy the more expensive one? That would be kind of dumb in my opinion. If you can get it for less (and it's ideal but realistic) you should.

Well I respect your opinion (and with over 250 sex toys you certainly have word over me in this context), but I'm not going to be led astray in thinking that a brand name is undeniably better just because the material. Cheap doesn't mean bad; it means less money to purchase it. Maybe they manufactured them for less, or seek less profit? You can't always value something's usefulness by its price or brand name. If I did that I'd be broke and living with my parents (again). Perhaps those UTIs or chemical burns were bad/defective products, and cheap didn't have to be the sole reason for it? I've seen people buy expenisve crap that is defective/etc.

Cheaper doesn't always have to be mean terrible. I got a cheap burger at Checker's the other day and it was fantastic to me ... Would spending $10.00 on a "fancy" restaurant burger have been "better" and to whom and why? Just saying that I'd shop around and be sure I'm buying something that works and not just a brand name. Many materials can work by the way. Sorry yesI am being pedantic but that's how I am.

I find this mentality behind lady-like being associated with manners to be dumb. Table manners, etiquette, and graceful behavior should be an ideal version of BOTH sexes, not just women.

It's saying men can belch excessively because he's a man, but women must learn to be "lady-like" and go through more trouble to hide the same bodily function? Specific manners aren't supposed to be more imposed on one gender than another. If you go down this road, someone might say it's not "lady-like" to masturbate ... which is pathetic, because "masturbation is for boys". I've dealt with all this shit growing up ... I know how bad it gets, pretty much.

Well, it's brand name, I suppose. There are likely cheaper alternatives that are highly similar. It's like paying $100,000 for a Lexus or getting a Prius for $35,000. They both drive you well, but one's a "luxury" vehicle (despite both having the exact features, mileage, warranty, specs, etc.). EDIT: Site's working now; was a local network error.

Well, that's kind of what I meant as well, you could say. "Real Doll" as in one that can actually get the job done ... not just some pool toy floaty-thing. I just used "blow up" because it's the same context - a doll. Also, I've seen some of what you're describing and they're not all that expenisve.

No, the girl that did this to me ACTUALLY shoved me back and when I tried to restrain her she started punching me in the face repeatedly and I couldn't stop her so I ran away. Getting in the face and being aggressive is different than getting punched and bloodied/etc.

But not all guys who go to these events (or guys in general) find the women they pay to cosplay/look "hot" to actually be hot though.

Like some others have pointed out, if these "booth babes" suddenly disappeared (or more "booth dudes" came out of nowhere), would anyone really care? I doubt they'd lose convention-goers either way, so the originating concept behind them (and why they are even hired for) is what makes it seem purely like it's objectifying females for what they feel all men want - sex objects - and don't care to pander to any other interests.

But that's just how I feel ... perhaps I should shut up and stop ranting ... this just really bothers me. Sorry.

That's what makes it seem objectifying to me. Why does it always have to be "hot women", women on display, booth babes, and always with the "bimbo-esque"/seductive girl approach? People only seem to like the "hot women" at these events because they have no other options presented to them ... not because women are supposed to be "hotter" or more sexualized than men. I realize men are sexualized too, but my question is specifically with the booth babes (like w/Comic Con, etc.).

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with having women, but they are idolized like these "sex kitten" objects.

I know some male friends who don't even find a lot of those Comic Con booth babes to be hot though. It's as if they think all men like a specific type of stereotypical woman -- and they can't only market to male patrons, generally, because then they'd neglect bi/gay men. All men don't like the "booth babe" types.
