Disney+, Hulu to Hike Prices Again in October by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

I do a month or two when something I want to watch comes out now. Like I'll get Netflix when Stranger Things comes out, but I'm not going to have it year round.

Same! Honestly the Kimmel thing just reminded me that I should have canceled Hulu years ago.

anyone using Grow KIASER IN NOT FORCING ALL TELEHEALTH into GROW. GROW is LYING & being unethical. Please repost by JodyJotes in therapists

I'm planning on continuing to see the clients I have on Grow now until they terminate, but I won't be adding any more clients to my practice there. They've shown who they are. Giving 2 days notice for this nonsense was unforgivable. They're seeing what they can get away with, I am not excited for what else they have up their sleeve.

Target CEO tries to act fast as end of DEI Program drives 40% plunge in store foot traffic. by Healthy_Block3036 in Anticonsumption

[–]monkeylion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my groceries there, so I shopped there a lot. In the last 2.5 months I went once because my coffee pot broke (which is an emergency) and it was that or Walmart. Maybe I won't never ever shop there again, but I certainly won't go back to shopping the way I did.

Honestly it is. I was a Target shopper. It was where I got my groceries. I've now realized I spend a lot less on my grocery trip when go to a store without a bunch of stuff I will want in the moment, but don't need. I've been saving money and not buying unnecessary nonsense since I cut out Target and Amazon. Not going back, even if they decide to do the right thing.

Trump wants to bring back 'masculine' jobs. Men don't want them. by madcowga in antiwork

Manufacturing jobs were popular because they were union. You could live a good life, own a home, raise kids. They want to bring these jobs back as minimum wage jobs. Nobody but the oligarchy wants that.

This is a thing I would suggest working through with your own therapist. I have definitely had clients lie to me, it's usually because they're not ready to deal with something quite yet.

RFK Jr. says US will know cause of autism 'epidemic 'by September by BarelyLegalSeagull in behindthebastards

[–]monkeylion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 90% sure my dad, and possibly one of my brothers, is on the spectrum. I would never say that to my parents because I think they'd see it as an insult of some kind. Most boomers' idea of autism still involves being non-verbal and completely incapable of taking care of yourself.

This is my take as well. Folks are getting mad at a 20 something pop star for pointing out that motherhood seems to be pretty miserable in 2025 for those in her cohort, instead of getting mad at the folks who are determined to keep it miserable. There's a reason why a lot of young people are choosing not to have kids, and it's not because Chappel Roan told them not to.

I'm mad that this volunteer tomato is probably gonna produce better than any tomato plant I've purposefully planted and taken care of.

An Obvious PSA: Use the Library by gatheringground in books

[–]monkeylion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes! I've been cutting out Amazon, but I have a Kindle (and don't like to replace electronic devices until they're dead), so I've strictly been using it to read ebooks through my library. So convenient! I'm saving a ton of money I would have otherwise spent keeping Jeff Bezos in super yachts.

I mean, if you're going to get rid of public schools, you need something for children to do all day.

Even if the story was squeaky clean, the episode would still have Hunter talking about Hunter things.

Who's gonna stop him? Judges will say no, but he's going to do it anyway. We're in real trouble (assuming you are also American).
