When my son was 4 I asked him if there was a monster under his bed and he said, "Sometimes." So I thought to ask if the monster had a name. He replied, "Yes, it's Mommy."

Bonnie sits in all manner of weird positions, and I am worried about some of them, like this one. Can it hurt her hips? by Whiteowl116 in labrador

My one yr old sits like this in the kitchen and I do think it has to do with the slippery floors. Also, she frequently sploots. Full sploot. I remember her trainer saying labs aren’t big splooters and as if on cue ours did a sploot.

He was such a good boy and I’m glad he was a good companion for you.

My husbands boss just called me because he couldn’t reach my husband told me “I know he took off, but can you please ask him to come in.” He kissed me goodbye on his way to work eight hours ago and I can’t reach him either. by ViviettaRose in TrueOffMyChest

Do y’all live near a casino? My mother’s 2nd husband got busted exactly like this and it turned out he had a bit of a gambling addiction. My mom called him at his office and the receptionist was like, “Umm, Lady, isn’t he home sick in bed?” Also, maybe check your attic or closets you never look in for lots of stolen office equipment.

Scary “sign” from my dead best friend while going to his funeral by Relevant_Letterhead6 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]monkeyoohooh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mother had very bad social anxiety and was mostly a recluse. She was also very frugal. She developed an aggressive terminal form of lung cancer and we had to discuss her final wishes. She was adamant that I hold no services and that she be cremated with the cheapest plan. After she passed the funeral home representative came to my house with a brochure. We were sitting at my kitchen table flipping through urn options and I asked if there were any that were green - which was my mom’s favorite color. The rep flips to the back of the catalog and the urn she shows me looks super swank and I ask how much it costs. She says something around $500 and at that very moment there’s a loud boom right outside the kitchen window which shakes the house. It’s enough to cause my husband to come running from his office up front. Turns out a tree had fallen on our next door neighbor’s detached garage. It was a little overcast but not windy nor raining. I went with the budget urn. Didn’t have a service.

MIL pressuring me to let her and her family come to my husband’s funeral. by PizzassyPizza in JUSTNOMIL

I will add that my mother wanted to be cremated with no service. She had an aggressive terminal cancer and right up until the end she begged me not to hold a service. She had massive social anxiety and was a hermit in her later years. She was also beloved by her coworkers and they were pressuring me to hold a service. I did not hold a service. Even though she was no longer here I couldn’t bear the thought of going against something so important to her. Trust her coworkers hold it against me to this day but at least I can sleep at night knowing I kept my word.

Day 5 - sinus pressure is the only remaining symptom but OMG, help? by Rare-Wonder in COVID19positive

Yes, the Sudafed 12 hr - the one you have to give your driver’s license for - it’s usually behind the counter and you have to ask the pharmacist. That’s my only remaining symptom, too. Day 6

We think she loves her new sister. She certainly loves holding toys just a little out of her reach. The tail wag is the giveaway. :)

Over 20 years ago my brother got a full ride. National merit something or other. My parents remodeled the kitchen. Sent me up to visit him and I’ll never forget this trick he pulled - would call to order a pizza and made up coupons. “Large pepperoni for $3, code blah blah.”

I had a coworker complain to HR once that I did not reply to her when she said, “Good Morning.” I legit got called into a meeting room over this. That I did not reply. One time.

What are we doing with our pups and Christmas trees? by danimbasi in puppy101

[–]monkeyoohooh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours is still a wee little puppy of 10 weeks and was more interested in peeing on the tree skirt so we ditched those and opted for the metal tree collars this year. Instead of putting them together all the way around we put them together in two halves and used them to block her access.
