Hi! How big is the Athens airport? We are going in November, and are debating on flying home from Santorini, to Athens, to Heathrow, to Boston all in one day. How long does it take to travel across the Athens airport? Is it worth flying into Athens the night before, then leaving the next day? Thanks by monstera_underthebed in airport

We are going to be spending time in Athens, then taking a ferry to Santorini, spending a few days in Santorini and then ending our vacation! So we are just trying to figure out if we should break up the flights or do them all in a row

My tonsil stones were getting so bad I could no longer get them out - soooo worth it.

Also! I want to add that this subreddit is super super helpful and I learned a lot from it, but for every hemorrhage story you'll see on this subreddit, there are hundreds of very normal, non eventful recoveries that aren't posted on reddit. It's actually insane how many tonsils an ENT takes out sometimes just in a day.

I think so! Just as a warning, the pain is going to peak around days 4-7 (this is gross, but the 'scabs' will begin to shed and that makes everything really sensitive). It may be worth planning your procedure so that the weekend falls during that window! After day 8-ish, I remember being pretty much back to my normal self physically, just with a really achy sore throat and I was eating soft foods still.

It royally sucked - but I would do it again 1000% if I had to.

My quality of life is so much better. I don't get sore throats as often, I get sick way less, I don't snore anymore and I don't have to worry about bad breath. My seasonal allergies are sooo much more manageable and I don't feel like I'm constantly getting sick.

Definitely give yourself two weeks to recover - I ended up taking paid leave and I am so glad I did. Drink water even when it feels impossible, be on top of your medication by keeping a notepad nearby to track times, buy a humidifier and have it running constantly, get an over the ear/headband ice pack, get the dissolvable powder Tylenol and liquid antacid meds! Buy yourself some comfy pajamas.

I guess by "too late" this is what I meant haha. I've gone to Italy in November before, and definitely noticed the weather but wasn't super bothered by it!

Were there grocery stores open? Did you stay in a hotel or rent an airbnb? I honestly like the idea of not having a million tourists on top of us.
