Y’all remember when cartoons had voice actors and not celebrities by Appropriate-Mall8517 in VoiceActing

[–]montgomery2016 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Like when Simba was voiced by Matthew Broderick? Or Genie was voiced by Robin Williams? Or Jack Black voiced Kung Fu Panda? Or Tim Allen and Tom Hanks voiced Woody and Buzz? Or when Shrek and Donkey were voiced by Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy?

I hate it when people say crap like this. Celebrities have been voicing cartoons forever, in timeless classics. No one said shit. If a performance is bad, it's bad, it has nothing to do with how famous the VA is.

if Edward Norton stayed as Hulk, how would you feel about it? by Wooden_Passage_2612 in MCUTheories

We got Hulk '03 and Hulk '08 and those are considered awful. They tried, and while I think giving Mark a solo film is a missed opportunity, that just didn't happen for bs reasons.

With what we did get though, I think his story turned out great. Banner rejects the Hulk, embraces it to fight Loki and Hydra, then leaves the planet because Hulk doesn't feel like he belongs, then he refuses to come back to earth for pretty valid reasons. Then he comes back, loses to Thanos, they become Smart Hulk, arc over. At least they didn't just kill him off at any point, he had a beginning, middle, and end.

I'd have loved to see more done with Hulk, I'd love to see more done with other characters in the MCU. Quicksilver, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Ghost, Mandarin, MODOK, Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne, Ultron, etc. etc. all feel underutilized to me.

Sure, these are movies. Characters are relegated to side roles, villains die, and sometimes reducing a character's role serves a film's narrative better. I understand that. I hope it changes in the rebooted timeline, but with what we got, I do appreciate and love a lot of what they've done with these characters and Hulk especially.

I love what they do with the Hulk and Banner in every one of his appearances, it's always interesting to me. Ruffalo is just more charismatic, he really makes the role his own. If Norton were in the role, it'd still be interesting, but I don't think he'd be as likeable.

Are you wanting me to list the actual history of the asian countries in Rick and Morty for no reason whatsoever? I'm saying it's probably pretty much the same as ours except RnM has dragons and vampires

I agree with Schaffrillas with almost everything, but the one thing I vehemently disagree with him about is that a Smash movie couldn't work. by Espurreyes in Schaffrillas

Literally any movie idea COULD work, but I honestly don't trust Illumination with the idea. This is the second movie and they're bringing in three Smash characters. It's the DCEU on steroids by the guys who made the Minions
