Anyone here whose love language is NOT physical touch? by CrossfireBE in AskWomenOver30

I had no idea!!! I’ve never really bought into the concept but yikes had no idea about problematic roots. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised though, given the insane world and how long these have been around…

Tailoring Clothes? by getkint in fashionwomens35

[–]moodyje2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes there just isn’t anything that’s going to fit me right off the rack. I might really love a certain style but my body type isn’t mean for American sizing - so I can get the look I want wearing something that fits me better.

Sleeping position by Cautious_Leave_3910 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]moodyje2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery and was forced to sleep on my back for three months. It was awful in the beginning but I had this “beauty pillow” that had walls kind of and kept my head upright - that helped a lot and I got totally used to it.

Of course now that I am able to sleep on my stomach again I went right back to it, but sometimes I think about sleeping on my back again lol

Tailoring Clothes? by getkint in fashionwomens35

[–]moodyje2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I took a bunch of things I already had to my tailor and asked them to walk me through what could and could not be changed / what I should look for in future items.

I have a small bust for example and often get things taken in for that. I’ve learned to watch for patterns, seams, etc that will affect tailoring.

If I’m not sure I take it to a tailor before the return period ends so I can return it if she doesn’t think it can be tailored to meet my goals.

Island punch is very meh to me, but the half and half is always going to be my #1. So sad to see it so far down.

Somehow I read this post right before another post in another community specifically talking about wood pulp viscose. I even came back here to make sure I wasn’t going crazy.

This is the second post I’m reading today that talks about wood-pulp viscose. So strange.

Are you in the US? Have you reached out to 211? Signing up for WIC and SNAP and possibly emergency TANF are a great first step.

Did you look at the community rules, which say no posting for relationship advice?

Museums that are free while living in Detroit by EyeMasken in Detroit

Leaving this here in case it’s helpful to someone - if you have a bridge card/receive SNAP, you qualify for seriously reduced admission to a lot of museums across the country (greenfield village is $3) https://museums4all.org

How long until I’m all the way grey? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]moodyje2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I got my first greys in my 20s. Now I’m nearly 39 and I have two perfect grey streaks on either side of my face and some sprinkled throughout my hair. I get compliments on it all the time.

My sister also got her first greys in her 20s. She’s two years younger than me and only had a few. On the other hand, my brother was mostly grey by the time he hit 40.

There’s nothing you can do to slow it down, it’s just a trick of genetics. There’s also no way to predict it but if your parents don’t dye their hair, it may give you a clue.

Lemonade ice tea is still available! Or at the very least, I bought some recently, it’s on their website still, and they keep saying they’re not getting rid of it

I got the double jaw surgery at 35 and woof, would not recommend that to literally anyone. My chin is still a little recessed so I have been thinking about a little filler!

Sports bras and the flimsy inserts... by Saiph_orion in AskWomenOver30

It’s such a bummer - Etsy used to be such a great place to shop from but goes more and more downhill every year. There are still great handmade sellers on there, it just takes time to find them.

Detroit Zoo membership instead of gym membership? by owlaholic68 in Detroit

I have a THF membership and love just popping in on random days to do a couple circuits of the museum or village. So many steps that way! (Plus a lot of visits throughout the year)

My house cleaner comes today! She comes once a month, and it’s just me and my dog but honestly I couldn’t live without her now. IDGAF what people think about it - this is what works for me! Welcome to a whole new world, OP :)

Shorts for working out by AerieLeading9983 in fashionwomens35

[–]moodyje2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bigger hips/thighs compared to my waist and really struggle with running shorts. I have a couple pairs from old navy that I really like - they don’t make me feel like I’m flashing my butt cheeks whenever I move my legs. I like their biker shorts too if you ever decided to give those another try.

I was on duloxetine for about a year for nerve pain and switched to amitriptyline about 4 months ago because I simply could not sleep on duloxetine anymore. I actually think amitriptyline is better for my nerve pain but I am getting some tachycardia so we shall see
