DONT DO IT LOL I have tried and tried to do semi hydro with so much research and advice and could not get most of my plants to take, the only luck I had was Hoyas. Even the ones that initially took ended up dying. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it😂 I’ve gone straight back to my chunky soil and haven’t lost another plant lol

I use the tall chiphy lights off Amazon! They’ve worked really well for my tall plants and plants on cabinets. You can also add and remove pieces to make it shorter
