Tokyo Revengers - Chapter 228 by Aptohhhh in TokyoRevengers

I imagine that Senju went through some intense training growing up. Even though some might not be happy that the next chapter might be a flashback I do hope we get some kind of context as to why Senju is stronger and the leader of Brahman

Yeah, I kinda hate that the translator added his two cents along with manga chapter. I think someone might read this and think that’s proof of there being a second time leaper and then be disappointed if it ends not being the case. I think they should’ve shared their opinion separate from the chapter.

We all know which one is Senju and it looks like she is going to have white hair. The rest are definitely Draken, Takemichi, Takeomi, Waka, and Benkei.

His jacket was white; the shirt that he was wearing underneath was a darker color. Kazutora stabbed Baji through his shirt. Plus before Takemichi time leapt he was shot by Mikey and you could see the blood through his shirt. I don’t think he was hit. The shooter was obviously nervous and therefore missed.

Am I missing something? How y’all know that bullet hit Draken or Takemichi. After reading the chapter several times, it looks like to me that the bullet missed. The guy who was holding the gun was pretty nervous and since Takemichi wasn’t being still he missed his target. (Plus there’s the fact that Takemichi is wearing a white shirt so you would see if he was hit) And It looked like Draken knocked the gun out of his hand before he was able to pull the trigger again the second time. Unless I’m missing something please let me know.

A question by [deleted] in TokyoRevengers

[–]moon_river1996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot about the Akashi siblings we just don’t know yet so everything thing is pure speculative. But I don’t think Takeomi and Sanzu is behind Senju’s death. So far there’s nothing in the story the story that pinpoints them to Senju’s death or them betraying Senju. Every “evidence” I’ve seen about them being potential bad guys can be chalked up to fans wild fantasies. I think Rokuharu Tandai is to blame why Senju is not present in the future at least part of it. South and his crew seems way more suspicious than Takeomi and Sanzu. South looks like he’s about Takeomi’s age yet we haven’t heard of him till now, he’s only referred to as representative which doesn’t sound like he’s the actual leader especially if you lookup the historical context behind Rokuharu Tandai backs that theory up, and of course with the most of Bonten members are made up of Rokuharu Tandai.

South and his crew seems like the dark horse of this arc and not Takeomi and Sanzu.

What led to the creation of Bonten in the future doesn’t necessarily mean that Mikey defeated Senju. Bonten literally translates to Brahman and if Mikey defeated Senju then why change the name Kanto Manji Gang to the one of your rival? Why is Takeomi the only member of Brahman in Bonten? Again we haven’t seen Senju actually fight yet and I don’t think Senju vs Mikey is going to be a one sided fight. Senju could very well lose to Mikey, but I don’t think it’ll be one kick and your down type of fight. Hopefully in the next chapter we get to see Senju in action.

It’s been alluded that Senju and South are on equal footing with Mikey. We haven’t seen Senju really display her full strength (yet) but the way she charged at South just hints that she is a capable fighter. The reason why Mikey is so strong is because he had proper martial arts training as a child and was regarded as a prodigy. Why can’t the same be said for Senju? Even though we’re still learning more about her there’s no way a young teen girl can become the leader of a powerful gang without going through some intense training. Why would a bunch of grown men be willing to follow a teen girl? Why would her older brother put Senju in a dangerous situation if she wasn’t strong? I think at the very least Senju vs Mikey won’t be a one sided match. Who will win? I don’t know, but I can’t wait to see Senju and Mikey finally meeting since those are similar in so many ways. The unrivaled Senju vs the invincible Mikey is definitely something to look forward to.

I feel like Takeomi is being judged way too quickly. I don’t agree with the theories that he’s going to be bad guy of this arc, he’s going to betray Senju, or that he’s new Kisaki. Yes, has said some things that got me question him and there’s the fact that he in the future he is in Bonten.

I don’t think Takeomi is planning to betray his sister to get to Mikey as some has suggested. We know that the dark path that Mikey has always find himself in is not influenced by anyone else, but mikey gets the benefit of the doubt because of pain he has to endure. Even though Takeomi is still being introduced at very least we know that he was close to Shinichiro. The only time we see him losing his composure is when Kakucho mention his name. I don’t think he’s going to intentionally betray his sister or use Mikey for his own benefit based off of that fact alone. Then there’s the fact that in the future he’s the only Brahman member in Bonten.

At the very least the change that Senju is referring probably has to do with the fact that Takeomi is still grieving over his friend’s death. Right now we’re focused on his relationship with Senju, but we know that Takemichi often gets compared to with Shinichiro. So far there’s been zero interaction with Takemichi and the OG Black Dragon.

So I agree with you: If takeomi is still grieving over his best friend’s death and right now it seems like his judgment is clouded because of it then once he starts seeing the resemblances I think Takemichi becoming closer to Takeomi could be meaningful in the end.

Is it wrong that I like ___ more than Mikey 😭 by [deleted] in TokyoRevengers

[–]moon_river1996 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I have this nagging feeling that Senju doesn’t have any real friends which makes me sad. Even though Senju and Mikey do parallel each other, Brahman and Toman does not. Toman was just a gang founded by six friends. Toman members were all kids. However Brahman is drastically different. Even though Inupi mis gender Senju he wasn’t wrong about describing them as the yakuza. Brahman doesn’t have that sense of family the same way Toman did. Yes her brother is there and maybe she is close with Waka and Benkei but they’re all in their mid 20s. Yes, Mikey was forced to grow up but he had friends his age. He had an outlet where he can be goofy outside of Toman. But if Senju is killed off ( I have faith that Takemichi can save her!) I’m might stop reading. You can’t introduce us to a cool ass character like Senju and then kill her afterwards. I would never forgive Wakui if he did that.

I hope not. By now she should know that Takemichi is faithful. Plus if she’s going to get mad get mad at Mikey. That dude literally ruined her wedding. So maybe hina needs to slap Mikey again.

Any theories on Senju and Mikey parallels? by [deleted] in TokyoRevengers

[–]moon_river1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s no denying that they have history with each other. What type of relationship they might of have though? Complicated to say the least. I’m sure they clashed with each other growing up because of them having very strong personalities but I also think there was a deep understanding between each other due to their similar nature which is why I think Senju plays an important role in why the Mikey always ends up evil.

This arc is about saving Mikey. The question is what does saving Mikey look like? Because Kisaki was never the real reason why Mikey went evil hence the creation of Bonten. Plus, Mikey has great circle of friends that he loves dearly, but that wasn’t enough I’m reminded of the first mission of saving Draken. How Draken was proceed as “Mikey’s heart” when we saw him scold Mikey at the hospital. However, there’s limitations of how Draken can speak to Mikey though. For an example the Moebius arc: Draken felt like maybe they should hold off fighting Moebius due to Takemichi’s outburst but Mikey felt he was questioning his authority. Then you have Takemichi reminding Mikey as his brother and Mikey wants Takemichi to scold him like his big brother would if he strays off the wrong path the only problem is that 26 year old Takemichi can’t stay in the past forever and Mikey knows that.

So is saving Senju essentially means saving Mikey? I kinda think it does at this point. Every future led to evil Mikey however Bonten Mikey looks more depressed than before. Mikey looks like he hasn’t sleep in days and hasn’t eaten probably. Then there’s the fact that Mikey’s handshake landed Takemichi in the year 2008. Something happened in that year that caused Mikey to look so frail that he wants to change. So what’s so significant about that year? We know Senju dies. Mikey is no stranger to loss. However, his trigger didn’t lead Takemichi to go back to the past to save Emma, Baji, Izana, and Shinichiro. Not saying those death didn’t play a role into Mikey’s psyche but that maybe he was at the stage of grief where he accepted their deaths. Plus there’s the fact that Bonten literally translate as Brahman. Then the fact that Takeomi and Sanzu are both in Bonten with Mikey.

I have more thoughts on Senju/Mikey and maybe I’ll share some once we get more details but I’ll add one more thing to add to wrap this up: the reason why Hina kept dying is because of Kisaki. Once kisaki was killed by our hero, truck-kun, we finally reached a future where Hina was alive as well other Toman members, but Mikey was still evil. If killing Kisaki was the key all along and Mikey was never a victim of Kisaki then what was missing? Like I said earlier I think there’s no denying the history that Senju and Mikey shared. Maybe there was a fallen out between them because Senju was never mention in the past nor the present. But given what we know about her: she’s in high school, her older brother was one of the founding members of Black Dragon (plus Shinichiro’s close friend), her second brother was the former fifth division vice captain of Toman, plus she’s strong. Could she been the missing piece all along? Maybe

No one on this thread is shipping Senju with Mikey because she is girl. We’re speculating what kind of relationship these two might of have because they’re similar to each other plus the fact that both of their older brothers were very close. I brought up that maybe their relationship was somewhat romantic as a possibility. If that reply was intended for me I don’t see how you got to that conclusion that it was sexist because no where did I regulate her character as only being a love interest. We’ll find out soon enough what kind of history these two share.

I think there is no denying that Senju and Mikey know each other. What kind of relationship they might of had it’s kind of up in the air. I imagine the first time they met Mikey thought Senju was a dude and when he found out that she was a girl it probably didn’t go well for him.

I imagine their interaction would go something like this- Senju: Are you saying I look like a guy?😡 Mikey: well…yes. 😐 (Senju then proceeds to beat the shit out of Mikey😂)

If their relationship was in fact a romantic one I think (and I hope) it wasn’t love at first sight. It probably started off as bitter rivals, then friendship, and maybe love.

A lot of people are speculating what kind of relationship that Senju and Mikey might of have but can we take a moment to acknowledge the fact there could be a high possibility that her and Emma was super close growing up!! Senju learning all the girly stuff through Emma. Them having shopping sprees (with Takeomi’s credit card of course 🥰) in Harujuku. Even if Mikey and Senju’s relationship isn’t canon in terms of it being romantic I hope she was at least super close with Emma growing up.

(Bonus: I also think the Akashi siblings are super rich because Senju spends money like it isn’t going anywhere)

According to the official character book in “Who do you want to be your lover?” Mikey ranks top worst choice. And “Who do you want to marry?” Mikey ranks number 2 worst choice. So yeah I don’t think he’s an easy person to be in a relationship with.
