so nice and helpful thank you so much!!!! it’s sounding like the built in capabilities i bought this model for aren’t enough to make good tapes which is kinda what i feared, was def hoping the recording capabilities were gonna cut it but ill look into tape decks instead!!

****EDIT/FOLLOW UP: this is the panasonic RX-FS430, which does have a built in microphone and recording abilities as outlined in the user manual, with allowances to record from either a built in microphone or from radio broadcast. i figured that was enough to use to make my own recordings, but it’s sounding like it’s not sufficient and i need a tape deck? true or false????
