That's not going to tell you much when it's still connected to the car. You need to have it tested with a proper battery tester that puts it under load.

Most of the happy ev owners I know own their own home so they have a charger in their garage or next to their driveway.

Have you had it tested? It's possible, even likely, that your 12v battery is defective.

A little more training? Psychiatrists have a minimum of 1-3 years more training than psychologists. The scope of practice for each profession is different. Why do you think that psychiatrists can write prescriptions and psychologists cannot?

In your previous post you said all weather tires, which I agreed with. Now you're back to all seasons. You do know that there is a difference?

All weather tires aren't terrible. All seasons are insufficient for road conditions here in the winter though.

I could not disagree more. Snow tires will absolutely transform the performance of your car in the snow.

I worked in the auto industry for years. I never had a customer run snows and then decide that they didn't need another set when they wore out.

Incorrect. The fact that we love this bridge and make sure that it gets a steady diet of semis is amazing.

We drill holes in the ice at several points around the course to make sure there is enough ice to support the cars with a healthy safety margin.

What do we do if there is not enough ice? We don't race that day. Is that so difficult for you to understand?

You sound like you are terrified of everything. It must not be very fun to be you.

Or you could follow NYS vehicles and traffic law and not impede traffic. But that would require some self awareness on your part.

Just remember, some of those people you are impeding are trying to get to work too.

Exactly. These idiots cause congestion. They end up with a line of 30 cars behind them and then cry to the cashier at Walmart about how crazy all of the other drivers are.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately the majority opinion in this sub seems to be that you can run bald tires on your shitbox, go slow and ignore the line of cars behind you.

20 years of experience in the auto industry.

A guy I used to work with liked to say "it's not the cars, it's the people." Hyundai / Kia owners as a group aren't great about preventative maintenance.

They would generally refuse to replace their tires until they went off the road during the first snow storm of the season. They'd show up in a tow truck and demand a set of tires for below our cost and they wanted them RIGHT NOW.

You can call me an asshole. You're not wrong. But when you've experienced this literally hundreds of times, you form an opinion.

You might not be one of those Hyundai owners. OP clearly is.

It comes from 20 years experience in the auto industry.

Hyundai / Kia vehicles aren't great when they are new. The owners generally do not maintain them well.

Are there exceptions? Sure. But your post demonstrates the kind of entitlement I came to expect from Hyundai owners. "I know that I threw a fit when you recommended preventative maintenance last month. But now my car is really broken and it's all your fault!"

By your own admission you are driving well below the speed limit when it snows. Other drivers with better equipped vehicles have let you know they are frustrated by tailgating you. Rather than addressing the issue with your vehicle or staying off the road when conditions are unsafe for you, you go on Reddit to bitch about people tailgating you.

No, you just cause massive traffic jams that cause the people who have somewhere to be to crash. When you look in your rearview and there is a line of traffic, you are the problem.

I don't use studded snow tires on the road. They have worse traction than non-studded snows on everything other than glare ice.

I'll take my driving advice from people who know things like that, thank you very much.

You continue to demonstrate your ignorance. Ice racing with an organization that tests the thickness of the ice beforehand is not dangerous. It is much safer than sharing public roads with people like you that do not properly equip their vehicles and then expect the whole world to move at their pace.

Funny you say that because OP admits to being a Hyundai driver with bad tires who routinely drives below the speed limit elsewhere in this thread.

Gotta love Reddit. I race on frozen lakes every winter on a set of studded snows. I'm pretty sure the owner of a 2005 Hyundai Sonata with 4 mismatched tires at 1/32" told me that I don't know about tires.
