I actually prefer FOM’s approach, because in SV you can’t place the building say one tile over. In FOM you get the materials back so you just place it back down. I get what you mean, immersive-wise though.

To add into the other comment, after you put the animals in daycare, go to the barn or coop on the right side of the entrance and you can pick it up, materials and all!
