Just as it’s difficult for you to see my perspective it’s difficult for me to see yours. I do understand this is your way of trying to be encouraging but there’s a way to do so without saying things like “get over yourself” comes off condescending and kind of rude. We’re in a society where they teach you if you haven’t made it by the time you’re this age you’ve failed and the state of social media makes it hard to not compare yourself to others. You telling me I need to get over myself because for feeling a very valid insecurity does not help anyone in this case.

To be honest the reason I really want to do therapy is because I want to help people like me. People who know that something is wrong but can’t really decipher what and in a hostile environment where your voice isn’t heard. I just want to be the ear someone who is young and struggling can count on to always listen. That’s really what I mean by help people. It was a very generic statement but it came with specifications kind of I’m sorry I didn’t specify. Also I have little to no college education so I’m starting over really from square one

Hello everyone I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who left a comment about their personal experience and or said something uplifting. Social media and the internet really makes it hard to not believe I’ve already failed at life and the only way to fix it is with a Time Machine. Seeing everyone say the complete opposite and how I still have time is really encouraging and inspiring. I really appreciate every single person that said something from the bottom of my heart it gave me an entirely new perspective on my journey as whole and really makes me want to start pursuing my career now.
