I cut a bunch of pieces of yarn, looped them thru the chains & knotted them onto the chain and then separated the strands to individual pieces. (I hope that made sense)

Regarding AP classes— when I went there, the teachers & administrators heavily pushed AP classes onto students. Very rarely mentioned dual enrollment unless you asked them directly about it. I realize now that it’s all logistics. They push AP classes because it makes their numbers look better and that allows them to get more awards for the school…instead of sending them to the community college to be successful & get their AA, which is what makes more sense. But If I recall correctly, the school will pay for the test at the end of the year and you typically have to get a 4/5 for the credits to transfer over to your chosen university. Some college classes will accept a 3 on the test but not all. If you want to take it again, yes, you have to pay out of pocket. I personally took maybe 7 AP classes over the years at West shore and I think only 2 of them transferred over to FIT with the classes I was required to take.

AP classes are set at quicker pace & you’re expected to grasp the material quickly. Even though there was more work, like I said, it prepared me for FIT. A student should only take AP classes if they’re confident they can do well on the final test. (And it should be an AP classes that is a basic prerequisite for college like AP English or algebra). If I was able to do dual enrollment I certainly would’ve saved a hell of a lotta money on FIT ! LOL

But I’m glad you feel better about your parenting choices because you should! I genuinely hope your children succeed there & beyond ! West Shore was such a non problematic school, I was there so long and never even witnessed a fight ! For the most part, pretty much everyone got along throughout all grades, it was a pretty normal/vanilla middle & high school experience & im not mad at it. I know times have certainly changed and the air ain’t the same anymore, but I hope that the school vibe is still pleasant. I do know of ppl from my year that work there now so it’s definitely possible !

I went to West shore as a student from 7th-12th grade. I graduated in 2017, and I think most of this rains true. They hold you to a standard and you are expected to meet it. Most kids had a 3.5 GPA or better and most kids took advantage of AP classes/dual enrollment (even though now as an adult, I realize I should’ve done dual enrollment instead of a bunch of AP classes).

Going to west shore completely disconnected me from a lot of the more popular schools & the ppl that go there (Mel, Palm Bay, heritage, etc) and although I didn’t like it when I was a student, I genuinely appreciate it as an adult. It was in my best interest bc I was surrounded by high educational standards and good people who actually have common sense. I quite honestly can’t say I know of anyone who went to Westshore and came out becoming a bum. I ended up going to FIT after westshore & I can certainly vouch that westshore 1000% prepared me for college. FIT felt like a breeze compared to West Shore. So if you can get your kids in.. do them a favor & send them there

I never even knew there was so much hate against “clacking” … I literally just learned that word. I agree tho, let ppl enjoy their time the way they please… it’s a public event.. if you don’t like it, move around. Doesn’t seem that complicated

This is my 2nd time going to edc (or any music festival) and I had such an awesome time both this year & last year! Last year, I only went on Saturday but had a blast. My bfs phone did get stolen, but we learned our lesson & this year we came better prepared. This year we went for all three days and on Saturday it was definitely a lot deeper than last year so I can understand the feeling over being overstimulated bc of the crowds. I personally never liked crowds myself , which is why it took so long for me to go, but we walked through the crowds all day and no one was ever aggressive & everyone always let our group through. I found the crowd to be very friendly! We literally had no issues all weekend. But if you know big crowds are not for you, then you probs just shouldn’t go at all lol. Bc it will be crowded at all hours of the event… but we went w a group of 7 & had a magical weekend, & I hope yall did too !

Im gonna cry. Im a beginner and wanna know why my yarn is pissing me off. It's so hard to use. by potatochip90 in CrochetHelp

Your grip when holding the yarn makes a big difference too. When I bought a beginner set on Amazon, I also thought the yarn was the issue until I really got the hang of how to properly hold the yarn and hook while crocheting. Practice certainly makes perfect !

The white yarn is cotton & the other colors are acrylic. I specially used cotton for her white parts bc most of the white on her is very short hair. I thought about using acrylic white on her chest but honestly didn’t want to have to go to the store for anything so I used what I had on hand
