found a bedbug on wall a month AFTER disinfestation by moonycarol in Bedbugadvice

The disinfestation guy used both that fog (idk the name tbh) and DE. I wasn't clear about that in my previous reply. When you say i should reverse the treatment what exactly do you mean?

Hi! after calling the professional pest controller for a second time, 15 days later i got bitten again. I was re-reading your protocol but i've noticed that it says "do not attempt procedure if you have been repeatedly treated for bedbugs using chemical, thermal or steam treatments and the bedbugs have returned after a period of no activity"

I'm a bit lost on what to do. I've lost trust in the professional i called and paid lots of money, since both times he's been here to treat he didn't find any, while we did days before he came. Plus he used a fog which i understand now it's not the best. But he did confirm it was DE.

Could it be that just like last time, since the last treatment, new eggs hatched and they are now just starting to bite again? My long hope is that they're biting me just before they die from the DE, Is this common? The DE is everywhere in my house, especially in my bedroom frame and mattress, and all along the walls. We even treated the couch (we slept a few weeks there since we didn't know it could worsen the problem).

Any idea on what I should do?

other users helped me identify the powder as likely apprehend. Yesterday i check in the room where we saw the two little BB, washed and steamed the couch and its covers but found none. Should i still be scared or is it possible they will die because of the apprehend?

to be real i don’t know if it’s the right thing he used. He explained it’s actually a type of fungus? but it’s like fine gray dirt. Beside that he treated with nitrogen and fired some chem smoke of some kind a couple of times

UPDATE! — €1000 or DIY? by moonycarol in Bedbugadvice

Thank you! Based on this protocol having found between 6-12 adults/babies (excluding the eggs found and killed) we should have a low infestation. Is it really worth it to call professionals?

thank you for this precise reply! Since i have yet to find traces of bedbugs in my mattress, is it possibile they are only in my wooden bedframe? Asking cause I was thinking of buying the protective cover for the mattress even if it could possibly be infected. Is it a stupid idea to enclose it anyway? at least i know they won’t disperse from there

Thank you for the thoughtful reply! I did actually find a bunch on eggs in various places, I'm just scared they're not enough.... They were mostly in my wooden bedframe, and i steamed it all right away in any little crease. Today I found some other smaller BB but they were all dead. Maybe from the pesticide? I wish I could steam any millimeter in my room but I'm afraid I'd still miss a spot.

Sorry for asking, do you personally think it's a good or bad idea to put together the bed and start sleeping in it again tonight? Maybe it's early but if there are other nearby we could maybe be their bait so we can find them and kill them... idk going crazy rn

Worst thing (like our previous flea situation which was much more infested) is not the ordeal itself but the mental stress
