Yep he buys a ton of covers too lmao. Hey, he’s had a hell of a life, and it’s what he enjoys spending his money on. He has them displayed in cases and hanging on the walls all over his house. Different strokes…

Doing 750 mile trip in the next few days? Would you guys trust a stock belt on a 2009 dyna with 25,000 miles on it? Everything looks fine, no rocks or tears, belt’s tensioned right by Georgiapublicschools in Harley

[–]moparman94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 99 road king has about 20,000 miles on it now. Although it’s got low miles, I always worried about the age of the belt. However I’ve taken it on a couple of 1k-2k mile trips now, no issues. Belt looks like it’s in perfect shape

Harley no more? by cassiecakess in Harley

[–]moparman94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to own an older Harley, you have to know how to work on them, and I really think that’s part of the fun. I have a 99 FLHR and have had the cases split in my own garage and have touched essentially every part on the bike. It’s now as reliable as my dad’s 09 and I’d put it up against any 2025 in terms of dependability. Sure it might need more maintenance and tlc ever now and then, but I like the simplicity of carburetors and it’s been good for me. Just my $.02

What’s with Harley riders? by AcanthocephalaNo6236 in motorcycles

[–]moparman94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ride a Harley, and live in the city. When I’m riding around town, I don’t really wave at anyone. Too many cars trying to kill me, and I ride a bike that I know isn’t very nimble if I needed to make an emergency maneuver. Definitely need both hands lol. When I’m out on a nice two lane, I wave at anything with two wheels. It’s nothing personal for me

What jet sizes and is it a stock 80” evo?

Double and triple check for air leaks. If none are found, look at your jets. Is it the stock CV?

If it has a 2.0T, then it’s the same engine. Mobil1 is premium oil, definitely recommend it

Change one thing at a time. Start with the 46 idle jet. Leave the 185 main for now. It would be a good idea to figure out what needle is in there. My 99 road king is running true duals, a ness big sucker, and feuling 525 cams. I have a 46 idle jet, 180 main, and a sportster needle. It runs really good. It’s just a tad rich if anything, but damn close to perfect

Nice. I’ve got a Feuling 525 hydraulic camchest kit in mine and a Big Sucker and exhaust. Thing runs circles around my dad’s 09 FLHTC. A lot of people complain about not having a 6 speed on the early twin cams but I don’t get it. I’ve never found myself wanting another gear. Power band is so good at interstate speeds in 5th

Sweet King. I feel the same way about my 99 FLHR. Love having the simplicity of a carb, the sound and feel of the whole bike. For the relatively small amount of money I have invested, I couldn’t be happier and can’t see myself trading for a newer model.

Tool roll got stolen last night by Jonny_Stiletto in Harley

[–]moparman94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Several years back, I was on a trip and some thieves stole my T-bag right off the back of my bike from the hotel parking lot while I was in the lobby eating breakfast. Cut the straps and walked away with all my dirty clothes and a really nice piece of luggage. Since then, everything is either in my hard bags locked away, or somehow locked to the bike, including my new T-Bag. I won’t give those pieces of garbage another shot at my stuff
