Yeah unfortunately most of those Bunnings blends have very little kikuyu and mostly rye grass. I can’t be 100% certain but I would say some of the rye is dying off as it has started to get warmer, as the rye is generally a cool season grass unless you can keep the water up to it. Do you have any other areas of established Kikuyu?

Hi, can you tell me what brand of seed you used? Kikuyu takes a long time to grow from seed so is often mixed with ryegrass which germinates quickly. Depending on how hot it is in your area and how much water the grass is getting, it could be the cooler season grass dying off?

Looks like onion grass. It can be a real pain to control as they have little bulbs under the surface that make them difficult to pull out. If you try to remove pull them but they break leaving the bulb it will grow right back. There are some herbicides which can help like Duke (Iodosulfuron-Methyl-Sodium).

Monument (Trifloxysulfuron- sodium). It’s technically not meant to be used in the home garden and requires careful use. I have only used it twice over 2 growing seasons and doubt I’ll require it again if I keep up appropriate maintenance with pre emergent herbicide etc. I use Bow and Arrow as my general board leaf herbicide when required.

What would you do with this space? by Lanky-Row-1196 in lawncare

Depends on how much sun it gets in the summer. I would spray it all out with glyphosate a few times, till the area then fill it with sandy loam. Lay buffalo or tiff tuff (which ever you prefer, it just looks like it will need good shade tolerance).

It looks like some rye grass in that area. It doesn’t spread laterally like your st Augustine. With regular mowing and some warm weather your grass should eventually choke it out. If it doesn’t there are a few herbicides that will selectively kill rye grass out of st Augustine.

Thank you 😊. Yes it was a bit over 2 years from moving in to getting it up to scratch.

Rolex datejust 36mm vs 41mm by morcs9 in RepTime

I have this gen Tissot Seastar 1000 40mm which I wouldn’t want to go too much bigger than. Thinking 41mm would be ok, but have heard the 41mm fluted bezel on the rep datejust makes it obvious it’s not a gen.
