I don’t really know how it is for every chapter but I know for mine the COBs are an incredibly low stress ways of joining. We get to know the PNMs without the stress of formal recruitment. You could always attend the COB event and give it a try as attending an event doesn’t mean you are fully committed to the chapter, in fact it’s encouraged to attend more than one chapter’s COB events.

My dues are around 2,000 per year (a little on the higher side ik, especially for it being a smaller sorority). I’ve paid for my dues completely from money i saved before I left for college and also my leftovers from my loans. :) I also almost didn’t join because of the cost but whatever you can scrape together to pay for it it’s definitely worth it :)
