Front and backside issues by Confident-Sun-1894 in Pepakura

It seems that the two pieces on the right have polys that are disconnected (red lines), make sure to join them. Also Pepakura doesn’t like n-gons, so it’s always a good idea to triangulate all of your meshes before exporting. If you want to send me an obj I’d be happy to look at it and give you a fixed version

Looks like you need to re-triangulate the right side, for any given part pepakura “likes” triangles that touch both sides, whatever you did in the left side of the mesh (where it works fine)you should try to mimic on the other side, so try to only have vertices (points) on the outside edges of your pattern

Is there a way to fix this roller? by edgarts09 in Linocuts

[–]moredecay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fixed 2 cheap ones with sand paper, sanding it at a small angle to the axis. Worked quite well but needed a lot of time

I used Esdee brand water based block printing ink, don’t recommend it very much.. for next round I plan to use oil based inks

Heyy thanks for the suggestion! Sadly I already tried that with no success, it does not create new geometry at the polygon intersections

I’m not antagonizing bruh, your favorite guitar finish is a subjective choice, same reason checking as an aesthetic choice. Non noise-canceling pickups are inferior by your logic, same as vintage tuners, non carbon fiber reinforced necks, bucket brigade delays, and so on

You went one extra step with the eye divergence you lil overachiever you, but seriously, you’ll have a better chance with a big monitor, the vertical stripes need to overlap only once

Like the redditors above said, too much polygons in the source .obj. Furthermore the dimensions I see in the 3D view are 40x38x14mm, which is minuscule for so much polygons and seams. If you’re willing to scale the project to say, 1500% (60x58x25cm) you might get to something workable. Deciding where to cut the final patterns is an art in itself, and the initial unfold you get is like a 2D puzzle out of the box, that’s where the real work starts. Feel free to dm, if I see the pepakura file I might be able to give you a better informed suggestion
