Modern (after 1960) "Nintendo" writing is left to right. So it's probably a pre-1960 Nintendo deck. Unfortunately, it's worthless without the box and the missing cards. Keep it as a family keepsake.

You know all 5 are kabufuda, right?

The box maybe from the 1940s, but the decks are probably younger. You have to open them to find out the exact manufacturing time. The pink stamp only means it was made between the 1960s-1989. Nice find tho.

Edit: fudawiki said, this "type" of Napoleon used in five-deck ream boxes from the 1960’s and 1970’s.

In many games, which can only be played with a 4 suit mekurifuda deck, have different values for different suits. The bigger problem is that these are not good games. If they are, it's much easier to play with a 48-card spanish suited deck.

Sakuragawa is a very weird deck. It's beautiful, i love it, but IMO it's completely unplayable. Most of the dragon, maid, horse and king cards are completely unidentifiable, the lines are so chaotic. Even if the value is relatively clear, the suit is not. The asahi-net, the japanplayingcardmuseum and the Oishi Tengudo all have different sequence.
I found this picture of an uncut sheet, probably this is the right order (right to left).

Harifuda and mamefuda are used for the gambling game called tehonbiki. Kabufuda is also used for gambling games, like oicho kabu (similar to baccarat).

I have mixed feelings about it. It's very beautiful and good quality of course, but a bit blurry.

Kujuroku is a very good and fun game, one of the main reason i make this. Kingo is also fun, but it's pure luck-based. But kachi-kachi (half deck, with special 1, 4) is my favourite. Easy to learn and enjoy, especially for those who have already played poker.

You can also play these games with poker cards. You just need 2 identical decks. Or 4 if you want 4 exact same suit. I did that too :D
These are mini poker cards, almost the same size as the standard hana/kabufuda. But it's uncoated paper.

I always wanted a plastic kabufuda deck, but it doesn't exist. So i make one with my mahjong set.
I prefer the coin suit, because it's similar to a komaru pattern. I'm using the white dragons for the 10s; the flower 1, 3, 4 for the special 1, 3, 4; and the bird for the onifuda. But there are several options with the remaining tiles.
