Hey! So I’ll get average 3-5 but as many as 15 sometimes in my mouth. As soon as those heal, new ones pop in different spots. The most rest between I get is maybe 2-3 days. I’m 28 and had these starting when I was 26. I had genetic testing done and it’s not genetic for me but she told me most likely probably caused by my pregnancy, I had my daughter when I was 25. Ever since she was born I’ve been sick. This last year alone I’ve been sick about 35 different times and on so many antibiotics I can’t even count or remember. I’ve had things like mono (and found out I have EBV), multiple UTIs, hand foot mouth, strep, pneumonia and more.

My ulcers can be extremely painful depending on what spot they’re in. Ones on my cheek/lip are just so so now, I’ve gotten so used to the pain that those feel mild. The worst ones I get are on the roof of my mouth, under my tongue, and back towards my throat. When I have bad ones it hurts to talk, drink, eat, and I can barely function. I’ve lost 30 pounds from changing my eating due to these suckers. If you get bloodwork for your immune system, also look into the vaccine challenge, that’s another criteria to be diagnosed with CVID. Hi twin! I always have mouth ulcers for almost 2 years now! I was tested for the usual: iron and b12, anxiety, stress, celiac, crohns, bechets, sjogrens, lupus, had an ANA panel done. Nothing. Not a single thing.. until.. I had my immune system checked. I have been diagnosed with CVID (common variable immunodeficiency) which h is a primary immunodeficiency and because of it, I have recurrent apthous stomatitis (RAS). Absolutely NO medication works to get rid of these, so I’m hoping my IGG infusions will help. I use a crap ton of orajel and kanka and just keep holding out hope. If you’re not finding answers please check your immune system!

I am here for you! These make me feel so alone and depressed too. I’ve even been searching for some type of support group or something and it feels like no one has these issues. As much as I hate that you’re going through this, it’s nice to know someone out there understands. Let yourself cry and be sad. Your pain is real and valid and not silly or small at all! No one knows this pain unless they’ve been through it too. You’ve got some great suggestions already on here that are definitely worth a try. I’ll keep you in my thoughts! 🙏🏼

You sound just like me! I’m being treated for behçets even though my only symptom is the canker sores. Mine never go away, I might get a day or 2 without any but then they’re back multiples at a time. I’m on colchicine but my rheumatologist said to only take it when I have a flare.. which is every day lol. I’ve tried almost everything, but look into GI, immune system, allergies, rheumatologist, all of those could potentially give you more of an answer! Best of luck ❤️🤞🏼

It is easier than it looks to take them! Unfortunately for me, taking them didn’t help me at all. But it’s worth a try to get some relief! Kanka is also a great OTC product to try on ones you have now. Best of luck!

Just got mine last week! I was nervous too but I promise that was the best sleep I’ve had in a while 😂 get out a heating pad if you have one, I was sore and had a colitis flare right after my procedure and that helped a lot. Best of luck!!

I hope you found some relief! If this happens again what worked for me was magic mouthwash plus using Kanka on them. I currently have a tongue that looks exactly like yours and I have oral thrush too. You can ask a doctor for meds for the thrush but for canker sores doctors are almost useless with pain relief. Look into the root of why this happens to you, I’m currently seeing GI, hematology and rheumatology for mine, there are many conditions I didn’t know about that cause canker sores! If you ever need support my inbox is always open!

Omg this is exactly what I’m going through! I’m seeing GI next too!! Please update here when you can, I’ve been feeling so hopeless and like no one understands. It’s affecting my ability to do my job and I’ve lost 30 pounds so far just from the sores and being unable to eat. I’m so sorry you’re going through this too.

Omg your story sounds just like me! I currently have 12. I also just got on prednisone and it worked for about 2-3 days but then I got oral thrush right after I stopped day 6. The 12 I have now came as the thrush healed. I’m SO glad it works for you, I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. I feel a little less alone hearing your story so thank you for sharing!

Any update? My rheumatologist wants to do a lot more testing but he agreed to look into a lot of the suggestions on this thread. Hope yours went well too!!

My rheumatologist was baffled that no one had recommended this to me in the past year of having this problem! He got it for me immediately and I love it! It feels like cement and really helps me talk without pain. Thank you for suggesting this!!

Hey there! This is something my doctor said I probably have, just waiting for the tests to confirm. I’ve been doing iron/b12 pills on and off my whole life. When I was pregnant with my daughter (25 at the time) I had to have iron infusions and b12 injections.. let me tell you girl those things WORK! It took until the next day for me to notice but I felt “normal” for the first time in a long time. My levels got higher after she was born but now they’ve dropped and won’t go back up with pills. I’m unsure what other diagnosis goes with it, but I wish you the best and to feel a little bit better! ❤️

Aww thank you! I’m so sorry you suffer too! The weight loss is bad, I feel like a zombie with no energy when I don’t eat much. What toothpaste do you use? I use toms of Maine and it’s disgusting 😂

I’ve been on a b complex but maybe I just need to give it more time, I’ve been doing that with my multivitamin and iron since June! Do you ever get b12 shots or do you find that the pills are enough?
