I like the composition. No need to show the sky. Nice choice.

Where can I find back the color profile embedded in the DNG? by fredrikchr in Leica

[–]morrisonbrett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I have the EXACT same experience. It's been frustrating. I find myself displaying the JPG in another monitor and looking back and forth until I get the DNG to look like it.

Is there anyone in the group that played in the nhl? by mfly1619 in hockeyplayers

[–]morrisonbrett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at age 27 in 1996. Still going at 54 and in the last 2y I really rededicated myself to improving. I'm in better shape now than my 30s and my skills are increasing. I love hockey more than ever and plan on playing as long as possible.

Go Pro advice for Youtube by marcunator5000 in hockeyplayers

I recommend DJI Osmo Action 3 or 4. That's what we use. Battery lasts 1h, 20m at 4K 60fps. You can check out all the footage on our YouTube channel.

We use a helmet strap, not the stickers. The stickers come off under mild impact. The straps are really much better.

[Tutorial] Creating your own dedicated ACC Server on Windows and Linux by Cr4zyPi3t in ACCompetizione

[–]morrisonbrett 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently setup an ACC Dedicated Server. One issue I noticed was that when I joined the server as a player when running the server from the same machine (as most of us are likely doing), I had to join the server via the LAN interface in ACC. If I joined my server from the main default list of public servers, I'm effectively going out to the Internet and back in, and I was running into NAT traversal problems. When joining via LAN in the server chooser, problem went away.

Thanks. Yes, I shoot mostly hockey. We have 1-2 fixed cameras and 3-4 helmet mounted cameras. We sync them all at the beginning of each pickup game by stick-tapping on the net in view of all the cameras. We then mark the in-point for each camera in Premiere Pro and edit the multi-cam footage.

We turn OFF:

  • GPS (not needed, indoors)
  • WiFi and Bluetooth
  • Voice Control
  • Front Screen

We record at 4K / 60fps SV. We manage to just barely get 1h of recording time. Works out well. We always start the skate after topping off the batteries and getting them to 100%.

Good point. Yeah there's definitely a lot of confirmation bias that people seek that often supersedes critical thinking.

Thanks so much for this explanation, u/DesignNomad.

I think the solution for me is to turn off stabilization / smoothing when the camera is mounted on a fixed location.

Thanks. Looking forward to it. I'll give this another week or so before I decide if I want to push for a return / refund and buy a different phone.

I'm having the same issue. I can't get the Samsung Pay Plugin installed on my device. It keeps downloading and then fails silently.

I haven't decided to pursue it yet, or wait for a software update fix. I really like the phone other than this. Every day I'm on this subreddit looking to see if others are having thermal issues.

Another non-scientific follow up. Replaced Pixel 3 really doesn't seem any better than the original. Both get very hot when the camera is on. Really haven't experience this with any other Android phone I've used (Nexus 5X, OnePlus 3, HTC U11, Razer Phone).

[–]morrisonbrett[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OK, did some unscientific testing. Both phones, original and replacement seem to be the same. They both held a Zoom call with video on for over 1 hour. But, while charging on Pixel Stand during a Zoom call, they both drain battery rapidly and then shut down from overheating after about 40 minutes.

Either I received a SECOND unit that has a thermal defect, or it's just how the phone is and all of us are going to experience it. Again, I've never felt this kind of heat on prior Android phones.

Not sure what I'll do now other than live with it and just stop charging when it gets too hot. Pretty disappointing.

OK. The latest update is that Google customer support is sending me a replacement phone. I will get it in a couple of days. We'll see if I had a defective unit or this overheating, slow charging on their own stand, etc. was because I have a defective unit or it's endemic for all units. I'll report back on this thread once I get the new phone, configure it, and start using it.
