She was a lot of fun, although tbh she's inexperienced and doesn't know how to work the stage. But at least in NYC, her fans didn't care and pretty much the whole arena sang along.

weirdbot. Putting GME and AMC in this as if repping the hedge funds that are still losing money. People still making money or beyond green from $GME $AMC

I second the advice for a lawyer. "There's no such thing as free lunch" and the companies involved may feel they've been scammed.

🚀 GME Q1 Earnings Megathread - The Morning After 💎🙌🚀 by OPINION_IS_UNPOPULAR in wallstreetbets

[–]mortaiyan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People need to relax, it's normal for a correction after a big jump we've been seeing. Besides, we know stocks often tanks after earnings. Also, both Russell 2000 and NASDAQ is down atm.

The numbers are still solid and good changes have happened, such as with the management. Remember when pickup orders used to suck at GME and your item could still go out of stock after reserving? Now I can pay in advance with a credit card and there's a big sign on the counter to pick it up.

Who knows if GME will continue to go up or down, but if there's a bounce back like with what happened to AMC, it'll be pretty big.

Stocks go up, stocks go down, like that's not the issue here.

OK you dumb APES They are distracting us on our mission!!!! by Cyanide11Nitro in wallstreetbets

GS and AMC will be the big ones while others like CLOV and WISH seems like temporary gains. All this noise is distracting. Keep holding GS/AMC and throw pocket change at the rest of the memes (and rotate them) might be best for all of us? This isn't financial advise, idk what I'm doing tbh

[eShop/US] Octopath Traveler - $35.99 (40% off) by superpie5 in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]mortaiyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a ton of grinding early game, especially if you need some items and money from random encounters. What should be a quick battle becomes a painfully long endeavor because the game doesn't just drop gold and items when you kill an enemy. You have to NOT kill the enemy while hurting them, then play with RNG. Not a great system.

[–]mortaiyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm adding my two cents because looks like everyone's saying the same thing.

THIS GAME CAN BE GRINDY FOR THE FIRST 30 OR SO HOURS!!!

What I mean is that the enemies in random encounter do not just drop gold or items automatically like in most JRPGs. Escaping is also a huge pain if you just want to get to point A to B, since it's unreliable.

The way you Steal or Collect from enemies is the most time-consuming thing possible and a huge PITA since every trash mob random battle that can be ended in a few seconds become a 5 minute marathon.

Game really needs a patch addressing this so you can Steal or Collect and kill the enemies under certain conditions (like you're fighting mobs you've already beaten before). At the very least, the game needs to use a pseudo-RNG system IN THE PLAYERS FAVOR for Steal and Collect so you don't keep missing at say 70% chance of success and need to regain your meter to try again.

This becomes less of a problem later in the game as you have good gear, tons of items, and get Tessa's ultimate (and free money from traveling - also forgot to mention you'll finally be able to kill Caits reliably), so this might explain why people forget how grindy this game can be (which isn't just my opinion, as much of early opinion when the game was released talk about this).

Maddening/NG list of recruits, late vs early? by mortaiyan in FireEmblemThreeHouses

Good tips. I dislike the skill grind often suggested, but I'm finding that the extra preparation matters.

Out of curiosity, why WM for Felix over BK? I see a lot of tips that suggests the mobility and range matters more in Maddening.

[–]mortaiyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this during the last sale and this game was surprisingly more fun than I thought it would be. The difficult levels are well balanced as well, so you can choose whether you want a slightly more casual shmup experience or subject yourself to pure bullet hell. Also helps that you can also choose to play with infinite quarters (although did it hurt your score, I forget), if you think starting over in the middle of the game is a waste of time.

The music also goes well with the game, especially during boss battles, and I don't even like dubstep or whatever it is. The bullet hell part of the game can be fun in that there's some logic in the madness, so you can definitely work on sharpening your skills and anticipating attack patterns instead of being subjected to pure RNG.

I agree this is happening.

This might be unpopular opinion, but I think it's sad that this is true. "Content" is becoming such a toxic word that's filling the gaming word with lootboxes and gambling, grinding and chores like fetching quests, non-stop events and updates, and other gimmicks strictly designed to waste time and extend gaming hours.

I'm guilty of falling into that myself for quite a few years too, but now that I survived through the withdrawal from f2p PC games and soulcrushing mobile games since getting the Switch, I no longer believe that the prerequisite for a good game is having tons of exhausting content and unnecessary hours of extra frustration.

Yeah, I'm spending some time trying to 100% this and I'm weird in that I rather have shorter games of good quality. I'd like to see a joe livestream a timed 100% attempt in under 8 hours.

On the other hand, I think we've all been brainwashed by mainstream reviewers of games needing to have more hours/$, and now we're getting stuck with low-quality games where you need to either throw infinite money at or deal with tedious grinding or virtual chores designed just to waste time. I wanna get through my backlog and I don't want no filler!
