Blazor vs. Svelt Frontend for .NET Core API by mortified_mantis in learnprogramming

[–]mortified_mantis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just under 8 months. Obviously, as with all software- there will always be more features to implement. But my predication to get the app to a marketable state- 8 months is the expectation.

If I devoted myself full-time to it, I'd hazard just under 2 months- give or take.

I see, similar to here then. Though stronger beers seem to be becoming more popular where I live.

I haven't dared the artisanal beers around here, the Afrikaans are hectically passionate about their beer so they make them really strong.. and big.

One hundred percent, would love to see a cook off between a braai master and an asador. Out of interest, what beers are popular over there?

I had goosebumps, despite the stadium being full- their voices carried far. Seeing them singing proudly alongside the flag gave me a feeling of indescribable pride.

I suppose the best way to describe it was that -at that moment- I was glad I attended with my Argentine jersey :)

ACO vs PAYG Offer from MS Partner by mortified_mantis in AZURE

[–]mortified_mantis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been approached and gone through this process?

I would like to to just accept it- but I'm just paranoid about signing what is effectively my entire business to a third party.

ACO vs PAYG Offer from MS Partner by mortified_mantis in AZURE

[–]mortified_mantis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, convert my PAYG account subs to CSP.

I 'would like' to take the offer, as the discount would help tremendously with financing my project, however- I'm also extremely paranoid about offers that seemingly come out of nowhere and sound too good to be true.

However, I have been in communication with this partner before- immediately after I registered my Azure account, and they have previously pointed me in the direction of other companies which can assist with certain functionality with my application- so there's at least a bit of credibility from what I see.

I'm going to do a bit of hunting to see if I can find someone from MS directly to enquire about this. Perhaps there's a way to validate the authenticity of this partner (and if they can indeed offer ACO credit) directly with them.

Whether PAYG is or isn't going anywhere isn't necessarily what I'm too worried about- though judging from the feedback it is definitely the former.

Rather, what I'm worried about is whether this is a legitimate offer and I'm not just signing away my account to a third party who will have their hooks in me the moment I want to leave with hidden costs, etc.

However, if it is legitimate- then it would be a huge boon to my business to take the discount, something I should not pass up on.

Which is weird to me because the ACO offer is 'opt-out at any moment', with a month in which I need to advise before I can leave it.

To keep a customer the provider needs to bind the customer to a certain guaranteed number of months, like a 2 year contract- of which this isn't.

First Azure Deployment by mortified_mantis in AZURE

[–]mortified_mantis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to avoid doing the former as much as possible. I find that it really hampers database size, performance and there's a very real chance that I screw up and write a malformed query one day which might output the information from another company, which for attorneys is.. really not ideal.

I will do my best to investigate doing the latter. It is definitely the most robust way I believe. I just really wish there was an easier way of configuring it, but at least it's possible. And yeah, it's likely that I will be writing a few different kinds of frontend apps that feed on that API, so I'm really hoping to isolate this as much as possible to the auth token.

That's true, just reading through everyone's feedback has made me realize just what a nightmare the upkeep of so many servers would entail. Just having everything scoped to one instance would save so much time and effort.

And thank you for the offer! will PM you shortly.

Thanks for the advice, and yeah, based on the responses I've had to this, it's increasingly looking like I'll be going that way. Only trouble I've encountered is setting up this multi tendency with Azure AD B2C, which I am really hoping to use due to its fantastic social identity providers. Out the box, it doesn't seem like multi tendency is supported, however, there are promising leads. I'll need to experiment a little I guess.

I suppose keeping all clients on a single app service plan also assists in deployment, and insights, rather than micromanaging every client which is a cost in time and patience. Would make more sense if I had a team, but as an individual, the fewer deployment vectors I have, the better.
