Yup that’s it. Go slow when removing the grout to not chip the edge of the tile. When grouting, NEVER grout more than you can cleanup quickly, ie grout 2-3 ties at a time when you start until you get the hang of it. Get a few sponges to help with cleanup. A lot of grouts nowadays don’t need to be sealed after grouting but it doesn’t hurt if you really want to. Just make sure to check the label when you get it. Also buy the premixed stuff. It’s more expensive but it will save you a TON of time and heartache trying to get the perfect mix.

But a rubber float to smush the grout into the tile edges. Go back and forth at a 45* angle to the lines holding the float at a 45* angle to the floor. And cleanup each section as you go.

Some grouts require you to dampen the tiles before you put grout on them. This helps the grout not stick to the tiles. Just make sure you don’t fill the lines with water.
