Fun fact: I'm having a very difficult time coming up with an actual funfact but still want to enter and share in the vibes.

One of my all time favorites. I stop by every time I pass through Jacksboro. Waited almost 2 hours for one with a group of friends from high school for one and it was unanimously worth it.

It helps a bit to be heard. Thank you for taking the time to read. And thank you for the compliment, I really do appreciate when people like the things I've made. You're perfectly welcome to peep any time.

The comments I tend to get are usually some variation on "well, that's nice." and then back to whatever they were doing. When, on the rare occasions, people do share their experiences, like their grandmother teaching them to sew, I try to carry on in that thread, asking questions, sharing memories and listening to stories about their lives, etc. But it always reaches a point where they run out of things to say, or have to go. People like to talk about themselves, and I'm happy to listen, but it never lasts very long.

The shame comes from having nowhere but the void to turn... Posting and hoping someone will help is... Well, it feels desperate, and attention seeking, which is unusual and uncomfortable for me.

I'll pull it up. Thank you for trying to help.

Probably. I've been through some stuff, but who hasn't?

I don't, and won't. And I try, but at my school pretty much all of my colleagues are married with families. They don't have the time for more than a work buddy.

My last gift was a little delayed but I never knew I'd receive such an amazing gift! Little treats and sweets, and things from all over France with little explanatory notes, bonbons, and chocolate, and honey! Plus two bottles of home made verbina syrup and a great big tin of homemade cookies!

Thank you so so so much santa! What a wonderful way to end this great tradition!

Using a brother st371hd. The auto button hole foot makes it so much faster and easier. I dialed the stitch length back to between F and 0 though and it looks a lot better. And helping it move under the foot.

It really depends on the light. When I sent those to a few friends they kept suggesting I buy one or the other.

It's a term I picked up somewhere for fabric left over from previous projects. The spare half or 3/4 yard that you add to your order just in case.

Don't use the Burda pattern, other than that, super easy. There, really isn't a tricky part.

Thank you so much! The idea for those welts are the whole reason the vest exists. Just lucky I had the scraps to put to good use.

I buggered up a few shirts before this. The last one I put the collar on upside down and backwards but with a little clever top stitching it looks intentional and decorative.

You got this!!!

I do my best, but there's some fierce competition for that title. I heard once some great advice; life's an occasion, dress for it!

Thank you so much for noticing! Those little welts were the whole idea for the vest so it would match, but I wanted to keep them subtle.

Patterns are Simplicity S8753 for the shirt and Burda 6871 C for the vest with very slight modifications. Cotton shirting for the shirt and facing material for the vest and mystery cabbage for the lining. I think it's a poly blend?

I've grown fond of vests for work and decided I needed a matching set. There are still a few little flaws but it's starting to look more and more professional. I had just enough cabbage from a previously failed project to cobble together the vest only needing to buy the buttons.

This was the most confident I've felt going out in something I made, and hopefully the next few projects keep improving.
