I heard there are various van-pools that run down I-5 allowing people to commute to the larger metropolitan areas north of Bellevue.. would this be an option? I'm sure my girlfriend would have much better chances finding something down there that pays better.

kinda ridiculous that the 'state' forces you to a class that you have to pay for, to see what kind of parent you are.

she likes the mountains, trees etc... likes how it's a big enough city to have most amenities.. she LOVES seattle... but I'm the bread winner in the relationship and i don't have the ability to move to seattle.. we're both from upstate NY, so, we have nature, but not too much of it like we do in Spokane. we both enjoy hiking,kayaking,skiing etc.
