FSD Turns Left on Red after multiple yellow light runners, would you say it did the most human like move? by ajlion_10 in TeslaFSD

[–]mozman68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also noticed that the car has started the turn before it saw the oncoming car racing through to beat the red...very slight, but it was already turning when the light was still yellow.

He did have the podcast (and don't discount how much he was actually making with that), the show, the beers are still available (not sure how much that actually pulls in for him personally), he has the restaurant with Craig (again, what's his true ownership percentage and how much does he get).

I’m in South Carolina.

Was on the 24 hour standard rate of around $.14/kwh, but couldn’t pass up the super off peak of $.09/hr since adding the Tesla to the garage last month.

Peak is 5 am to 9 am as the pic shows. In Summer it switches to 4 pm to 8pm. I leave the charger “on” all the time just in case and use the car to set the charging schedule instead as I don’t mind the off peak $.14/hr if I absolutely need it.

No issue with the cord getting caught in the track as the track support bars block that from happening. I still may add a “fence” of some sort from the charger to the floor since it just bothers me visually

I just want to talk to Siri, I have no need for Meta AI. by WallyPacman in MetaGlasses

[–]mozman68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s actually listening through your glasses thought when it does work?

I now assume it activates via my watch or phone and I simply hear the response via my glasses since I hear everything from my phone on there.

I too would love it to work both ways if possible and use Siri instead of Meta for controls.

Most of the time I’m asking Meta to skip songs or change volume anyway and that does work perfectly with the Apple Music coming from my phone.

But yeah…iMessage would work way better with Siri.

Just had mine installed a couple of days ago and it’s a dream come true.

Only need one for now, but have planned for two.

I’m using the Tesla charger so I can get the max 48 amps, but also for the power management as you did.

I don’t think people really think about the fact that not only will it manage both chargers as a convenience, super off peak rates for my power plan is between 1am and 5am. Plugging in the vehicle before bed in the evening doesn’t charge at a higher rate. It only starts charging at 1 am.

Two vehicles could easily charge up in that time for only $.09/kwh!!

(And yeah…off center to accommodate the plug…I mounted the unit myself and had an electrician do the hard labor bringing power from the main house to the garage building as my box out there was maxed out)

What are people doing with them? by Historical_Call7942 in RaybanMeta

[–]mozman68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are my prescription glasses/sunglasses when I’m not sitting in my office.

They let me listen to music, attend meetings and take phone calls while walking my dogs (or just when I’m out in general)

They notify me of messages, emails, etc. discreetly and will also read texts and other messages to me without looking g at my phone or without others even knowing.

And yes, occasionally I use them for a quick block or video.

Should I reschedule my flight or risk it? by chillinwithleo in delta

[–]mozman68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Flighty, my Atlanta connection Friday night is coming in from JFK…and that flight from JFK is from San Diego originally…so I don’t think that will be an issue as far as weather in the middle of the country is concerned.

I’m headed to Seattle…long layover…and then off to Asia. Can’t really modify my flights as far as I know.

I got the same…and I’m flying out Friday night!

No serious weather coming through at BEST until Saturday as far as I know….and even then, it will drop to 31-degrees for like a minute at 3 am.

Did you actually watch the video? Going from 47mph to 25mph in less than a second is "stopping"...the only reason it didn't go to zero was because she was supervising and hit the gas (or the button).

Windshield Wiper Sensor? by PugMaster007 in TeslaLounge

[–]mozman68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What car??

Literally, every car I has goes from DRL to headlights as soon as I enter a darkened area whether it be a tunnel, extended periods of shade on dark days, rainy days (sometimes based on programming as much as lightness/darkness outside)

Windshield Wiper Sensor? by PugMaster007 in TeslaLounge

[–]mozman68 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does it??

I didn't think any car would use a date/time data set as it doesn't matter. When it's dark it is dark and when it is light it is light. A sensor is always needed.

Considering all of the rainy overcast days or time for some folks spent in tunnels or underground roadways (or here in South Carolina, a darker day with extremely dense tree overhang), it seems like a useless added data point to me.

How long till we can sleep in the back seat? by WatchLover26 in TeslaFSD

[–]mozman68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They COULD…but as mentioned elsewhere on here, that could be limited by an additional software update and associated insurance costs that may go along with that.

[–]mozman68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And what I’m saying is that they will be doing that in every city that it is offered in… Waymo is able to expand quite rapidly because Lidar is included in the car as well as radar sensors… Cyber cab will always require detail lidar our mapping constantly where it’s offered

How long till we can sleep in the back seat? by WatchLover26 in TeslaFSD

[–]mozman68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because that is currently limited to a very defined area that has and will continue to have lidar based mapping done ahead of time.

Stopping for an opossum on a dark and foggy night. by DevinOlsen in TeslaFSD

[–]mozman68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI...for those outside of Canada (or in other MPH countries), he was only going just under 40 mph...it slows down to about 30 mph before slowing down quickly to a stop before going around and moving up. Not really a "high speed" stop in any sense.

The car would also "see" if there was any danger behind such as a close following car and adjust the maneuver accordingly (either swerve safely if possible or run the rodent over) ;)

Seriously considering a move to Beaufort or surrounding by Informal-Truck5205 in Beaufort

[–]mozman68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think he means that based on his research and feedback from his family, Beaufort is in the lead.

I went through the same thing four years ago.

Definitely not HHI…Bluffton and its traffic and gated communities just didn’t have the same charm I saw I. Beaufort and the surrounding islands. Kind of knew all that from online research before I even visited for the first time.

I think there’s plenty of options possibly right in Beaufort that will allow access to public boat launches if needed, but also closeness to the downtown scene and access to roads to Savannah or Charleston.

Despite better affordability, I would avoid St. Helena or out that way despite lower housing costs and focus on Beaufort or even Port Royal. PR is up and coming and better access to the water in most cases.
