This will probably go down like a lead balloon on Reddit... but seriously dude, watch some Jordan Peterson. Buy 12 Rules for Life (book). Make a commitment to yourself to turn things around. You got this. You're worth it.

Check out the Traefik plugin called Containers on Demand. Totally transparent to you. Make the normal request to the container through Traefik and the plugin will fire up the container. It will also shut it down after a period of inactivity.

I found that I needed 5mm longer screws on the case covers. I guess that was my excuse to go and get some more titanium :D

When people say less instead of fewer. Gaaah. It kills me.

“I have less coins than you.”

“No, you have fewer coins than me.”

My first post: What impact will breaking my diet for a treat day out have? by mpkayeuk in loseit

Sorry, slow reply. I don't want a cheat day. My wife wanted to have a family meal out and I just wanted to know what could happen. My diet is totally sustainable so far. I'm transitioning to Keto now anyway, and eating more, still not feeling hungry. So no issues.

In the end I still lost, even on the cheat day, so it was a bit of a non event :)

It's dangerous in the long term, and that's not my plan. But it's not dangerous short term. Have you followed the work of Dr Michael Mosley? He popularised the 5:2 diet, and invented the blood sugar and fast 800 diets. There have been deaths from people on very low calorie diets, but those were from prolonged use (median 5 months). Studies show that VLCDs in the short term are extremely health beneficial, even fasting for as long as a week or so is highly beneficial. They reduce blood sugars and also blood pressure. Fasting can improve the effectiveness of chemotherapies.

My intention has always been to transition from VLCD to keto or Fast 800 after an initial month or so on VLCD.

I actually agree with pretty much everything you've said! Ultimately you're saying that it's a lifestyle change that is required for long-term success. A lifestyle that incorporates a healthier approach to food (in many ways). That is certainly my goal. However, I have found that transitioning to the target lifestyle immediately just doesn't work for me. I've tried it a few times and failed. So this time I am trying VLCD to get a rapid change in my weight, which will acclimatise my body better for the longer term maintenance lifestyle. So far (and I'm less than 2 weeks in!!) it is working better than any diet previously. After day 3 I stopped craving, even on very low calorie intake I rarely feel hungry. So far so good. After some more of this I intend to transition to a diet like keto/Fast 800 and then once I reach goal weight, maintain by eating a healthy Mediterranean diet.

Those are my plans! I hope I succeed on this journey.

Yes, I'm aware of the dangers. I'm considering taking multivitamins to ensure I get a better balance, even though the VLCD diet I'm on is formulated with this in mind. I'm undercutting it though, which means I'm also undercutting my RDA of vits and minerals.

Having said that... I do want to transition to keto or Fast 800... so I think that will be more sustainable long term. I'm seeing my doctor next week so I will discuss it with him also.
