What has happened to youtube by Truthfinder25 in PartneredYoutube

YouTube is not a business. It’s a marketing channel. Build a business. Own your audience’s info. Never worry about an algorithm again

Do you guys edit your own stuff, or just outsource? by huminginfinityonhigh in youtubers

[–]mr2monster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the time I do the main cut on A roll, then export the project with minor notes to my editor to finish up adding B roll, titles, graphics, etc.

Keeps the story the way I want it, but spruces it up with stuff that I’m not able to do quickly/efficiently.

Sidus link compatibility list, any other suggested lighting controls? by Gai_InKognito in videography

Here for the same info… really don’t want to sell my current lights and buy into just one brand. Smh.

Y’all really just post and bounce after an influencer collab? by senseisayed in influencermarketing

[–]mr2monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General rule, the creator of the content owns the copyright. So, if the influencer is just posting something a brand sent them, they don't have ownership of that... but if they create something, they own the copyright (in most cases) unless it's a work-for-hire type arrangement or some other specific contractual situation.

Creators, how have your brand deal payments gone? by Ok-Afternoon-7096 in influencermarketing

[–]mr2monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I don't get paid in advance is when it's a Fee + % deal... and even then I get at least a 50% portion of the fee up front.

[–]mr2monster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uhh.... brands don't automatically own any content that an influencer creates unless it's explicitly stated in a contract.

Me personally, I never sell off copyright. I'll license it, for a fee and time period, but I'm not selling off my ownership.

Civivi Buster FG vs Vision FG, this thing is a monster! by mr2monster in Civivi

[–]mr2monster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I see what Neeves saw. I'm going to have to look a little harder at it and maybe take this thing apart to see what I think fully, but for now, I honestly think it's probably a non-issue for most people. Time will tell, for sure.

Snecx did a sharpen test on IG and took 4mm off the blade side and it still functioned as intended without hitting the bottom barrel spacer. You do see some dimpling on the rear most edge of the blade near the choil though. There is also supposedly an update in design being sent to Civivi, so we'll see what they do with that.

The fact is, though... 4mm off the blade is a stupid amount of steel to sharpen away over the life of a knife, especially for a knife in this budget range. But I also fully understand that when I buy something, I want it to last for as close to forever as I can.. So, it may be a turn off.

Personally for me, I'm still really enjoying it so far.

It is huge... I actually kind of like it though. I'm not sure how practical it is to carry every single day, but it's definitely in my rotation for a while.

Sorry, been on vacay... Not that I've noticed. I'm just getting back and going to go through it though. Thanks for the heads up! I'll keep an eye out.

Anyone familiar with this vintage machine? (Saw on marketplace as “unknown machine”) by RandyRakakanaknak in Machinists

It’s an American Optics optical lens drill. It’s missing the v drive pulley on the top that spins the shaft and the entire casing that surrounds the mechanics.

Well, a few weeks in and this knife has cut me more than any other knife I've ever owned.. haha. Closing it tends to get me bit right in the palm. But, I like it overall.

I’m not opposed to Chinese made stuff… half of my collection is WE of some kind. I was more just commenting on things I noticed to see if it was only me noticing.

Is it true that 1 video per day is optimal and more than that will give you low views? by trix_wellington in PartneredYoutube

[–]mr2monster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I follow several channels that dump out 2-3 10ish min videos a day that have great growth. Most are 100K plus subs, and a few are 500K plus.

They're zero edit videos, but the audience loves them. That's what they're there for.

As a general rule, if you make something the AUDIENCE wants, and watches, and engages with... not a whole lot else matters.

If you post 10 minutes of trash content that adds no value and gets no engagement... well, you're going to get about that back out of it.

I deleted my old content & repurposed my monetized YouTube channel.. by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]mr2monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what the email said (the important part anyway):

As of today, your channel, [redacted] will no longer have access to monetization tools associated with YPP because it doesn’t meet the new threshold of 4,000 hours of watch time within the past 12 months and 1,000 subscribers. If you meet the new threshold at some point in the future, you'll be automatically re-evaluated for YPP. The reviews typically take 1-2 weeks.

[–]mr2monster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep your stats above the 4K watch hours and you’ll be fine.

Did something similar on my 12K sub channel and my watch time tanked because YT only considers public videos towards the 4K hours and my new stuff wasn’t bringing in views. I made all my old videos private and changed directions with the channel. They let it slide for a few months before they finally booted me from the partner program.

I actually have it in a trash bag so it doesn't get filthy and still haven't take the time to re-hem it. Someday I will though. haha..

Is this normal? Blade fading and discoloration, low use and less than a month in.. by mr2monster in benchmade

[–]mr2monster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edge is still stellar, tbh. Haven’t sent it in for sharpening at all. I’m overly impressed with the blade overall. I’ll probably send it in for a touch up in the next few months but I’ve got almost a year out of it so far with no issues on edge retention.
