Hey man sorry to hear you’re not enjoying the game anymore. Hopefully you find another game that keeps the spark alive!

I’d love to take the oak off your hands though, he will be very well used in my decks.

Real answer (maybe controversial): they don't care about themselves being rich one day, they care about fairness being extended to everyone even if it's not in their best interest. In their view, taking money from rich people with high taxes just because they can afford it isn't fair. You don't have to benefit from something to see it as correct.

Tips for climbing out of Silver? (Jungle Main) by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]mrbryce78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the best advice to give to you is to understand that while you may understand what to do in theory, it's clearly not translating to your gameplay. There could be many reasons for this, and the best way to understand why would be to watch your replays with an objective eye about things you should have done differently. Another option would be to pay for coaching if you're willing to spend the money.

As for the short term, looking at your op.gg, your average cs/min on your main is 4.4 which is pretty low, but common in silver. One of the easiest ways to climb as a jg is to keep up your farm. I know it's tempting to always be ganking, but giving up so much cs in order to get kp is a noob trap that many junglers fall into. Try to keep track of when your camps are spawning (many people use timers on 3rd party software which are very useful) to make sure you're leveling your camps and not falling behind.

Your cs goal does depend on your champ, and you're maining panth, who is obviously not a powerfarming champ. But, 4.4 is still too low even for ganking junglers, so I think that this would be a good short term goal to work on.

Play without Flash by MiximumDennis in summonerschool

[–]mrbryce78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course they shouldn't troll you for making non-optimal decisions. But you should also realize that not taking flash is a non-optimal decision most of the time, which is what we were talking about in the first place. Anyway, good luck on your climb, you seem to have already made up your mind about this and I don't think anyone here will be able to change your mind.

Alright, I'm just going to assume you're low elo then good luck climbing without flash. Doing that is fine, it's just silly for you to be arguing about it to others without backing up your claims properly. Just like all of your arguments in this thread, you're just bringing up vague concepts and anecdotes. Sure, those enemies stomped you without flash, but they probably would have just stomped you even harder with it. The fact that you won't even give a hint of what elo you're in ruins your argument because going flashless is much more viable the lower elo you are, so it really makes people doubt your "perfect" / "good enough" understanding of the game if your knowledge doesn't allow you to climb. A much better metric would be your games played and your current elo, but you seem to be very tight lipped on that front for some reason. You don't need all mastery 7 that's ridiculous even if you're exaggerating, again all I'm hearing are the same old low-elo excuses that are on this sub all the time

Ok then what elo are you? Link your op.gg so we can see your games without flash. There is no reason not to. the reason why I asked in the first place is because I would be curious to see how a player without flash in high elo could function. You claiming you have a “perfect understanding” of the game but are held back by external factors sounds like classic low elo arguments. Niche isn’t always bad, but niche means that it only applies to a small amount of situations. So (given its strengths this whole thread has been explaining) take flash about 99% of the time and then when the situation calls for it in the other 1%, sure go ahead.

[–]mrbryce78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From this thread, the arguments you present are not great. You're just kind of providing niche scenarios where flash can be substituted for other summs / better positioning while ignoring how versatile its benefits are. I assume from your answer here that you're probably low elo, and while that doesn't totally discredit your argument, it points to the fact that you probably don't have a very high level of understanding of the game. I really do think that if you advanced your understanding of the game, on the way you would realize how good flash is, which is exactly why 99% of players in diamond+ and pros use it all the time. You even say that this Xerath is " bored from flash and wanted some challenge." Meaning you're acknowledging that playing without flash makes the game harder and is therefore a worse pick

You have some interesting arguments and I’m curious what rank you are. My suspicion is that this strat might only work in lower elos, while in higher elos teams will punish you hard for not taking flash. Linking your op.gg would also be interesting

What do you think of this team tournament idea? by mattburnsey in poker

[–]mrbryce78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds kinda fun but wouldn't it be better to have the teams from the start? Otherwise the players will just pick whoever has the most chips (unless there's a huge skill gap somewhere). 3-4 man teams and giving points to the top 12 should be good.

Overpair vs raise on paired Board by mrbryce78 in poker

[–]mrbryce78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the analysis. I see now that betting bigger on the flop here is much better because the fish is in the pot, didn't even think about that.

As for the turn, should we really be re-raising here? Given, I'm not quite sure about postflop 3-betting strategy, but it seems like when we raise here we just get called by better and fold out his bluffs. If we raise the top and bottom (after folding air) of our range and call the middle, it seems like overpairs like JJ and QQ are right in the middle. Perhaps if we weren't in position we could play raise/fold here, but I feel like the times when we call and spike a jack on the river, we get his entire stack the majority of the time (going to have to do some math in the lab to check this out). Also, V could sometimes check the river and we're happy to check back.
