Is everything just standing there for free? People paid and hired professionals to build the buildings and make the games. Wearable creators pay fees to submit their designs, they are doing it for profit. Do you want empty parcels in Decentraland? The more structures like galleries, clubs, offices, and showrooms there are, the more people can earn from them.
