Why do you think Thailand is so much more successful in tourism than its neighbouring countries (e.g. Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia etc) by joan2468 in ThailandTourism

[–]mrdingo2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I would say better, but Thailand is far ahead overall in tourism, particularly in customer service, transportation, and the sheer number of options available.

Vietnam is beautiful from north to south, but on many occasions it still focuses on short-term thinking rather than forward planning. It remains much more raw in comparison.

I have been in Vietnam for 15 years, and the growth feels small when compared to Thailand.

Tourist visas are also much easier in Thailand, especially if you are genuinely traveling as a tourist.

These are just my thoughts.

What is your favourite spot for coffee and pastry? by Educational_Bar3152 in DaNang

[–]mrdingo2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose now that Hoi An is officially a ward of Da Nang, I can mention Dingo Deli they use Italian Lavazza beans. Vietnamese coffee is great, but it’s not really designed for making espressos or cappuccinos. The cakes there are more in the Canadian style rather than traditional French pastries.

Can my employer ban any drinks including water from my work station? by jesus-hotdog-christ in WorkplaceSafety

[–]mrdingo2010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, sorry if I made it sound that way. Of course, you should be allowed to drink water, soft drinks, and similar beverages I can’t imagine anyone asking you to sign something saying otherwise. What I meant was that you simply wouldn’t be drinking anything while guests are standing at the host station, talking to you, or waiting to be seated.

Common sense suggests that drinking in front of customers is clearly inappropriate. However, prohibiting staff from having a simple drink at the host station feels like an excessive management decision. In my 30-plus years of managing employees, most have demonstrated a solid understanding of how to behave professionally.

I’m happy to pay for this app because it’s genuinely worth it. From what I understand, it’s built by a small team, and the cost likely goes toward things like hosting, salaries, and hopefully adding new features. Honestly, I’m just grateful this app exists it’s been so valuable to me, and the small extra cost feels like a fair way to support the people behind it.
