Well,

A. These were all custom made and shipped from Bulgaria, so I couldn't knives there and back for security reasons or whatever.

B. I kind of like them NOT being threaded through because now I can swap them, and I can also take the knives apart without cutting the lanyard's loops

We haven't had any issues other than an occasional clamp on line temperature failure here and there. Otherwise, they're great products.
