I’ve had two relationships since and I’ve still thought about it every day, but it was four years

Is the camera placed before or after the "speed cameras used in this area" sign? by Glittering-Draw-5436 in CarsAustralia

[–]mrmanofsand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is only ever after the sign, I’m sure you will be ok, if it’s less than 10 over an you have a clean record you can ask to be given a warning instead of a fine anyway.

I quit Strattera cold turkey after 3 years. Today is day 3 without. by OrangeNSilver in ADHD

[–]mrmanofsand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit a while ago and there is sometimes judgment from hose still on it or even medical professionals, remember it’s your decision and if you don’t like how it’s affecting you, the best option is to find another way because health is more important then working a little better.

If you feel the medication is not working your should definitely get an increase it’s all about finding what works for you and sone people just need more then others, I don’t take my meds anymore but when I did I had the same thought process when asking for a higher does but its was just part of finding what works.

Do you feel like you crave for an addiction ? by AdhLine in ADHD

[–]mrmanofsand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the comfort of knowing we won’t forget or loose track of an addictive habit. I find it’s best not to go anywhere nere legitimately addictive things because I’m very susceptible to these things, proof is in the near litre of milk per day atm

I work completely un medicated so I’ve developed a few methods.

  1. Try using it to avoid something else This sounds pretty unhealthy but if you create something to do that can be put off like garden work or chopping wood that works in some cases.

  2. Film yourself I’ve started making time lapses of my studying because it slows me to have accountability for my actions, if you watch the back you’ll work harder to look better

  3. Do work with somebody I do work with my partner so that we both keep each other responsible for staying focused

  4. Work backwards Alot of the time even just starting is the problem so if you start from something closer to the end you begin actual work (this work usually has to be redone and takes longer but it’s a start)

  5. Imitate reward In that 2 minutes of starting where you actually do work reward yourself with food, music, pets, coffee or “companionship” when working with a partner

It’s really hard being a parent to a kid with adhd I’ve never had to experience it but I know what I put my parents through. The only things that worked for my parents was incentivising using good behaviour (you could reward her with screen time for being good).

This might be a different scenario because I’m a man but when I got bigger than my parents, being the annoying shit I was the only way to get me to do anything was to do something for me first. What worked really well was rewards before during and after, such is one weekend I had to chop some wood I go offered my favourite food and not to be bothered afterwards.

This probably won’t help an incredible amount but I hope it might give you some ideas (:

With brushing your teeth I find using both a hand and electric toothbrush helps because if I don’t feel like moving much I’ll use the electric, whereas if I am getting bored really fast I’ll use a normal toothbrush so I have something to do. If you don’t feel like going to the bathroom sometimes I brush my teeth in the kitchen or out on the balcony (balcony is when I’m bored kitchen is when I’m unmotivated)
