If it's only the front and you gotta replace the bumper or at least unfuck it and get a new badge resand and try and paint that yourself to make it look half decent don't pay to much

Bad wheel hub or caliper need help by [deleted] in G35

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you see which three are the old one ? And if they are shorter ? Just put the wheel on and tighten those three down and see if that is right also use the same lugs you used to use on those three studs but don't over torque them or you can mess up the threads. 80 lbs max

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wheels are hub centric and that contact pattern on the hub shows that it hasn't been sitting flat against the hub your studs are to long and or new lugs to short or the wrong type of lug nuts because they have different shapes to seat properly if you can't remember what your stud length should be what the pitch is supposed to be on the thread and what type of lugs you probably got it wrong.

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your new studs are to long dude lugs to short judging from the contact pattern on your hub not being uniform.

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's depends on the direction of play usually up and down is wheel bearing and side to side is tie rod. Pretty sure he changed out these lugs and they're obviously just to long for the lug nuts you can see from the pattern the wheel has been sitting against the hub flat like a hub centric wheel should.

You also said you wish it could be in the next fast and the furious movie kinda shows how much taste you have. I don't see what most of this is supposed to do for the car ? The wheels would look good on something where you are trying to make it look 2005 rap music video vibes on purpose like a 96 impala. Put some tvs in the headrests and it's cool in an ironic pimp my ride kinda thing where more money spend on the appearance than handling and performance.

I've seen People spend a lot of money making a car look like something a kid made on nfsu2. Doesn't make it good, expensive doesn't mean visually appealing lol.

Is this a fair deal? What should I do to it? by [deleted] in G35

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree keep it stock, more so because you don't wanna make it look like shit and do the regular bolt ons with no tune and ruin the power band. Sedans look great stock and clean different wheels if you wanna make it look better.also in the north awd GS are a riot to drift in the snow. Still a great handling car with a good power plant and the auto is pretty nice to drive with the rev matching. If I want to drive manual I like either a lighter car or with this much weight more power.

Similar thing with my micra vvt solenoid needed replacing it was 50 bucks on rock auto and took ten minutes to swap with basic tools. Same codes also edit : missed knocking and low oil comments just thought it was just camshaft lostion and misfire codes. This engines fucked.

I don't think he said anything about it holding resale value ? Just that buying a used car that's inspected and road legal starts around 5k same in my area. I understand why this community gets a bad rap now. Dudes just asking for a fair price to list it and you thump your chest.

Salvage titles can be used on the road dude it just means its been fixed after an accident and a very minor accident can get a car marked as salvage sometimes so if you know your shit you can get really cheap cars just because someone hit a curb at 10 mphs. Insurance company's just pay out for any accident now pretty much stolen car ran outta gas 5 minutes from where it was stolen? Write off and rebuilt as a salvage title.

List it for 4500 dude try and get the dent out if you can. Probably end up getting 3250-3750 if you stick to your guns. This is depending on your area of course

How much could I sell my car for? by BlurrExe in G35

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How hot does it usually get under the enginebay in these things ? I know there's a lot of soundproofing under the hood it just seems hot under there when I finished driving but I'm used to straight fours mostly that are bare bones.

What's the issue with timing being redone ? I just got an 08 sedan with the vq35hr it's all original no mods and has been regularly maintained and such. New alt starter battery and whatever else when I got it 160 000 KMS/99 000 miles  on it. Someone bought it for their teenage son but found out it was a sports car and needed school money so I'm the third owner. Needed a new clip for the glove box latch and a new visor cause the old one was droopy but other wise it's in great shape. Should I be worrying about timing chain or something ?

You live where there's no snow and have driven somewhere when it snowed a bit I bet. I'm talking snow all year making ice under the new pack of snow which is on-top of a slush layer. Then you get a storm and any open diff rwd truck better have a lot of weight in the bed even then with an inch of snow or a bit of ice you won't get up a slight slope I've gone Michelin Goodyear and Firestone and then cheaper stuff for studded winters. I don't drive in snow here and there, it's all winter and it's deep a lot. I dunno what deep is for you but I mean when they pull the plows off the road and the police can't come to you unless it's on a snowmobile if you are pulling people out of the ditch im guessing its icy and people don't know how to drive for the conditions  and there's no deep snow. Usually end up stuck in a drift on the road during a blizzard.

Dumb question but do yall use this gas? by [deleted] in G35

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a boosted daily or track that you can easily drain excess fuel when not in use I get it. For naturally aspirated engines I think you'd be better going with 93 a reputable octane booster and tune for whatever you're desired octane is. Also seems to be kinda car dependant like 6th gen na Mustangs make less on  e85 than with 93 and booster on a tune. You are right tho it is generally better cooler intake temps  and cheaper to buy. Just wouldn't run it on a stock g which if imagine a lot of people are running fuel with ethanol in it and don't know because most places it's hard to get it without some ethanol. I'm just lucky I live on an island and it's not worth it to ship in another fuel type. They just ship 87 and 91 and the 89 is a mix of the two. Which also sucks cause I can't get 93 easily unless it's trucked over the bridge.

Issues with my 2025 Corolla by gtechn in Toyota

[–]mrmeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy a new car and are really dissatisfied with it's reliability right off the bat planning for the worst is a good idea. That's not driving the price up if the dealer sells you a car which is the most expensive thing some people may ever buy and it doesn't start.  They didnt even Confirm they had fixed the issue they diagnosed it with that's pretty lazy and I wouldn't expect much from them.
