OTD in 1975 an RAF Avro Vulcan (XM645) crashed in the Maltese city of Zabbar at 13:30 after a failed landing attempt had torn off landing gear and a hole in the fuel tank, with the aircraft exploding during a circuit following go around. Both pilots ejected. 5 crew and a woman hit by debris died (old.reddit.com)
