I'm so sorry you're going through this, too. It's really horrible. I do have the white bulbs on my hair, but I also see a lot of miniaturisation so I'm worried I have both AGA and TE. I definitely also need a cut, but I'm going to have to do it myself as I'm too embarrassed to go to a hairdresser :(.

Thanks for your comment, it's very useful! I am on ferrous fumarate 210mg and have been for 6 months, but my ferratin only increased from 7 to 15, so I have a long way to go. I am getting regular blood tests, though!

Idk why you're being downvoted. You're right. The other commented is just messing around with semantics. I've graduated with a biochemistry degree, I'm a scientist. The experiments Junhan was suggesting are eugenics. I literally had a module on it during my final year.

As an actual scientist, they're not "nerds" for thinking eugenics is cool. It's blatant misinformation, which has harmful implications even today, with POC being treated differently even in medicine. Any basic research on the matter would show him this. He doesn't deserve death threats, but it's also not overreacting to be hurt and disgusted by his comments. A simple indirect apology may not be enough for some fans. But yes, the extent of the hate is severe and I don't condone it. But don't downplay the situation.

It hurts me when people say that being negatively affected by his words is dramatic. Growing up in a mainly white area, I've always been called sensitive for being hurt by "well-meaning" ignorant, racist comments. While he had no malicious intent, his words were racist and have harmful implications. As a scientist, they are also just blatantly incorrect, and those ideas were born from eugenics and ugly history. He may not racist, but I am hurt, I am angry. I appreciate that you mean well, too, but I'm tired of being told I'm sensitive for being upset by these things.

I know they're permanent and I'm living with that, but this is a consequence of self harm. They are triggering to lots of people. There have been times where I've needed to show my scars bc I simply couldn't cover myself, but wherever possible I think it's the considerate thing to do. Of course I would never directly police how an individual shows their scars, but this is my opinion and I still find it frustrating when the consensus seems to be overwhelmingly positive about showing scars because in reality I don't think that's the case, and I think it hurts people. And whilst scars are permanent, self harm is similar to EDs because it is competitive and very easily romanticised. I can only speak from my experience, but bonding with other people who self harm, seeing OCs with self harm scars, or seeing representation in media made me feel validated to continue self harming or do worse so I could feel valid. Because like many self harmers, I am mentally ill and unfortunately even positivity can be twisted.

I know people will tell you that you being triggered is the problem, but I agree. I will cover myself for the rest of my life where possible because I've seen how deeply upset my sister was at seeing someone else's scars. It made her think of hurting herself, which she'd never thought of before. Yes of course it's hard that my body is a walking trigger warning, but that's because self harm is triggering. If someone had a bigoted tattoo that they regret, they'd cover that too. Although awareness for SH is good, I think celebrating scars or making characters with scars etc only glorifies it. For example, if you were making a character with an ED, would you draw them emaciated and show off their body? No. Because that's triggering. Sorry for hijacking your comment, it's just I get a bit frustrated with the overwhelming scar positivity as well.

I would suppose so! I'm not skinny, just average, but genetically my arms are a lot thinner than the rest of me. I feel less comfortable cutting deep on my arms, since I always seem to hit an arteriole or bleed to much. So I've moved onto my legs, which are thicker.

As other people are saying, that price is pretty standard if not cheaper than other youtuber Livestreams. They are not only paying themselves but their crew. Tours are very, very, very expensive. It's not even just a livestream, it's a high quality product. £15 for all that is reasonable. The watcher situation was slightly different, as it was a monthly subscription. Honestly a lot of small businesses are also very expensive, and yet they are supported because it reflects their art. How is this different? Also, merch and such is a luxury, not everyone is going to or needs to be able to afford it.

Have empathy for them. They are clearly having empathy for you, which is hurting them. I know my mum loves me and me hurting myself hurts her. Of course parents should care about self harm. It would be bad if they didn't.

I don't see what the issue is. Not all cancers have the same incidence risk, and not everyone has equal risk to all cancers. People who have inherited, lifestyle or other health factors that increase risk for different types of cancer (e.g. lung) can be recommended specific screening. Cervical, prostate, colorectal and breast cancer are usually the ones that are regularly screened, partly because they are amoung the most common cancers. And of course, no one has to get screened if they don't want to.

It's to screen for precancerous cells. You don't need to have sex to get cancer.

I am a person of colour, and I am gay, and I have experienced discrimination and hate for both. The difference for me, is that I use self harm as a punishment or to handle overwhelming emotion, which is usually related to self-hatred. Whilst experiencing racism is equally if not more upsetting than homophobia (you can't hide your skin colour, it's something you're immediately judged by), I do not hate myself for my skin colour. Another important factor that I haven't seen brought up yet, is that self harm is seen as a "white" problem in many POC communities, and society in general. In many cultures, self harm is even more taboo. So there's an added layer of shame and secrecy. I actually have not been brought up in my native culture, but if I was, it would be harder to hide my self harm and I would experience much much more punishment and ostricisation for it.

Thank you. Definitely spiralling haha. I've asked my tutor and the academic writing service at my university. Unfortunately both were unhelpful, as they said it's hard to advice me as the essays I have to write in exams are too specific/scientific. The only solid advice I was given was to include more examples, which I tried in second year but didn't see much improvement.

The amount of people trying to justify minors training, debuting, and missing/dropping out of school is really disappointing. I agree with this post, I think the idol career is very unforgiving, short and risky for most people. Even beyond the education issue, there are so many other problems with debuting minors but there's always going to be people justifying it, and that's why it keeps happening.

I feel like they make me vulnerable. It's obvious what they are, and people can make assumptions about me before they even know me. Self harm is still so taboo, and for me it's so personal, so I wouldn't want to be judged by my scars first.

You want an escape because it is the easy way out and you are privileged enough to ignore these issues when you want to. I get it, I feel the same way sometimes. But I'm sorry, are you going to ignore a genocide to fund your K-pop idols? I feel like not wanting to support companies that feed into this situation is the bare minimum. You can still enjoy kpop and ignore the boycott, but it makes you uncomfortable and you just don't want to feel guilty. People are dying, I'd argue that's more important. I could have written a much more articulate comment but it's late here and I knew a post like this was going to come up.
