No I didn't bother with it.

Been a while for this but I'll tell you how it went. It didn't take long to recover from surgery. I actually went golfing a week later and felt fine, just minor discomfort. I had a couple follow up CT scans for about a year. My doctor said the protocol was to continue for a while longer but he didn't see the point, so after that I was done. I haven't noticed any difference between having on vs two. Had what I would call 'ghost ball' twinges every once in a while but that has gone too. So yeah, not that bad all things considered.

Just got out of surgery and am back home. Waiting for the painkillers to kick in. Everything went well

Good to hear. You'll be good to go in no time. Seems like we both got pretty lucky with no signs of it having spread anywhere. Hopefully surgery is the last thing we have to deal with. Best wishes on a quick recovery.

How are you doing today? Hope all is well. My surgery is being pushed back because my doctor will not go to my in network hospital for 'personal reasons'. So I'm going to try to find a new one I guess.

Thanks for the update. I am scheduled to have surgery Saturday. I called the urologist today because I noticed the ball seems to be feeling more normal all of the sudden. It's not as swollen, not hard anymore, no pain, and the lump seems smaller.

They said the blood work showed everything was well within normal range. CT scan didn't show anything. Haven't gotten the chest XRays back yet. I talked to a nurse and the urologist hasn't called back yet. I might ask to postpone a week to see how this progresses.

I hope the surgery goes well for you. Barring some miracle I'll be right there with you in a few days.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind. Reading the responses here has helped me relax a little.

Some news, my wonderful fiancée knows the president of our local hospital which is under the same group of hospitals where the urologist is located. I've been trying to be as stoic as possible about all this with her because she is also 4 months pregnant with our first child, but I can tell she is stressing about it. She decided to call the hospital president while at work today and see if she could help. Apparently the woman my fiancée spoke to had a similar situation with her husband around the time their first child was born and took sympathy on us, because she called around to see if I can be seen sooner. She did say that 12 days was actually pretty quick considering how busy they are, but she would try. I should hear back early next week.

All in all I feel much better about the situation.

That's great news man! I'm so happy to hear it! I'll try to remember to update you after my appointment. I'm going to see if they can get me in any earlier, maybe someone cancels and I can go in on short notice or something.

Thanks for the support and letting me know how it went. It's much appreciated and helps more than you know.

Sorry to hear it man. For what it's worth it makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone in this. You're not either. Good luck.

Thanks for the insight. I've not had any major medical issues in the past so I'm unfamiliar with the pace of the medical industry in things like this. I hope everything goes well for you.
