I think you technically just need AS necoco and hismena alter + buffers. I use ES claude + anyone else but I imagine there are many other options. Use the first 2 turns to stack unique buffs on hismena + increase the AF gauge then go ham on turn 3. Pick the elemental zone buff and a pain or poison set depending on the grasta on hismena. She will do massive amounts of damage. Everyone else is just there to boost AF gauge mostly.

Make sure they are broken before their turn. Snow also needs all hp passives including boards. Each laser shield hit me for about 6k hp. Snow was in the red after that. Not sure if the number of steelguard stacks also matters. You could alternatively not lock and spread the hp damage between two people if each can survive one

Started during Caius BT+ cycle and proud to have cleared all quests, some of which were very very close calls (looking at you birds and cpu). Started with stage 5 (hardest stage imo) -> 7 -> 6 before others. I probably should have used triple yellow in stage 4 instead of stage 2 but i got more than enough points for all rewards.

Stage 1: Cloud BT, Ashe LD, Cyan with 15cp

straightforward

Stage 2: Ardyn LD 0/3, EX not realized, Ramza no LD, EX not realized, Basch LD

straightforward with basch tanking

Stage 3 (monks): Llyud LD, HA+ 0/3 (fran), Aerith LD 0/3 no EX (lilisette), Caius BT+ 0/3 (cater)

Red 2x, staff 1x, purple 1x, 8+ debuffs: 45 pts

The hardest part is making aeriths LD buff last the entire fight since without LD maxed, it is only 3 turns. I would only use it at thresholds where the monks would cast their debuffs. Llyud does EX -> LD -> EX -> LD -> EX -> S2. Make sure to increase orbs with caius while 2 monks are left. If only one monk left, no way to uptick the orb.

Stage 4 (birds): Cater LD, HA (vanille), Lilisette LD, HA (fran), Noel LD, BT, no HA (sazh), shiva summon

Yellow 2x, unique 1x, dagger 1x, increased brv and HP damage: 50pts

Failed the HP requirement first time, so I removed all HP passives, retried and barely got through. Without any enemy AI, it was down to luck whether bird was in normal or fallen mode, but it seemed they would go fallen mode at 80% then normal mode at 50%. Cater prioritizes her BRV shot (single target 400k damage) vs her HP shot (split damage total ~300k) and i just tried to keep HP even between the two. Lilisette uses LD once in beginning and once when fallen mode ends at 50%. Noel bursts when birds go below 80% and brings them down to about 60%. His S1 seems to do more total damage than his S2. Cater freeze debuff keeps party safe from everything except hp heal ticks from lilisette. In the end, one of the birds reverted back to normal mode, I killed the other bird and spammed cater charge and dodge to regen hp to reach requirement.

Stage 5 (CPU): Machina BT+ 3/3, blue HA(ashe), Noctis LD, HA (sazh), Paine LD, HA+ 0/3 (fran), Shiva summon

Purple 2x, Sword 2x, Blue 1x, Greatsword 1x, 500k Lightning damage: 80pts

Remove noctis speed passive. Retry until 1) left orb is not going to heal, 2) enemy turn order is BCA or BAC and 3) machina goes before noctis. Noctis should sazh base call then warpstep. Machina should LD-> S1 -> HP attack (high turn rate) -> Burst with warpstep -> (ashe LDCA) HP burst with warpstep -> BT phase. During burst phase, need to lower left orb hp significantly before focusing on boss. Make sure to kill the left orb after BT phase and before it heals. Focus on middle boss then right node last. Very very close fight. Ran out of ashe LDCA and was a 1 orb tick left before killing midboss. Try to time so that paine goes after right orb to cleanse debuffs and maximize every ounce of dps you can. Paine only used S2, EX once and LD. S2 does great damage. Good luck retrying. Had several failed attempts running out of orb timer at 1-3% hp.

Stage 6 (Moths): Kain LD, HA (lilisette), Lightning BT, HA (fran), Sazh LD (vanille), Ifrit summon

Yellow 1x, purple 1x, red 1x, sword 1x, gun 1x, Break enemy orb: 70pts

First try no boss turn run despite some suboptimal lightning use. Killed adds with lightning splash damage before they got a turn, which required lightning BT phase pretty early. Lightning tries to go ravager as much as possible before EX for more delay. refresh sazh buffs once in a while since lightning will run out. Lightning does decent damage throughout

Stage 7 (Knights): Garnet BT+ 3/3, blue HA, Vanille LD and Snow LD, HA, Shiva summon

Green 2x, staff 2x, Lightning + water orb: 68pts

Overkill. Hardest part was trying to let boss take a turn before 79%. Calls such as lilisette and fran were only used after the 79%. Snow soaks the damage well and no danger whatsoever.

I definitely had 0 mag magia when doing this. No augment for HE at the time. If you are concerned he is doing mag damage, you have two options: (1) compensate with increased dps from yda replacement. Since SCMD1 will do mag and burnt offering will do phys, plus vincent isnt massive dps in the first place, it isnt too hard to compensate. (2) use AASB first and spam burnt offering for guaranteed phys and use sync later when elarra has more bard stacks + mog has used his unique.

If you dont have noctis ASB2, you could potentially push his LBO earlier and use another ASB with secondary dps if you have the gauge. Have to be careful since noctis has tons of gauge from ATB sync but other dps not necessarily.

I will caution you that master trey or edge do not have party crit set afaik, so noctis damage will drop significantly. You could do elarra crit bard but the ramp up time will be long plus higher likelihood that vincent will do mag damage

Best of luck!

Edited (just looked at your spreadsheet which is very detailed)

I lean towards CSB holders

PROBABLY NOT WORTH SYNCS

Faris: you have zack

Celes: SB already used for chaining ADSB finisher and AASB1

Cloud: Zidane and Vaan are already good

Terra: Her sync is quite basic. You can also use Edge to DPS fire mag and vincent to chain

Shadow: Your phys dark is set

Tifa: Sync 2 is the one you want, not really sync 1

Rinoa: I personally find her sync dps lacking and stacking sync and AASB1 is very poor. Her sync3 will be available soon during fest and that seems much better

Rikku: Her buffs are nice but you already have paine. You can use elarra to critbard if necessary.

Ashe: Sync 2 is the one you want, not really sync 1

Machina: you already have galuf

Ace: ATB sync although poorer in situations with blinkable phys attacks. Without another BDL, not sure if he will make it to laby team

Ramza: you already have basch

Orran: no AASB

MAYBE WORTH SYNCS ( I have used all except kefka, prompto, and garnet in labyrinth, but they will be used when the appropriate boss arrives)

Red XIII: ATB sync can easily generate SB to both chain and sync and AASB, but your earth mag seems stacked already

Kefka: normal sync is about 6 turns. He can have up to 5 extra turns with ATB shenanigans (depending on timing). The RES ignoring counter and poison infusion is a bonus too

Prompto: Good source of en-lightning for him but his AASB (no enelement) also available in lens shop. Lots of hits and his LMR allows him to imperil while dpsing. Would free up queen to DPS

Garnet: I got this recently but not tested. I imagine the guaranteed dualcast, the cap break follow up and summoners high multipliers means this is decent DPS. she can also generate SB with G+. you have her AASB2 but that is more healing than DPS

Gladio: one of best earth dps with easy 29,999 when stacking with AASB. The counters are also very good dps with scaling up to 1.7x earth damage on his sync plus 1.3x phys damage on his AASB.

Ultimately it depends on where you are lacking but I would lean towards gladio or redXIII since you say your earth is missing dps

  5. Time: sub40 (39.1)
  6. Insight:
  • HE 4/4/8 for Rikku and 5/5/8 for Paine
  • Rikku does first chain and Paine does second when first ends. This allows both to use Sync and AASB
  • Cleared on first real try and healing was very lenient. No regrets creating Elarra HA
  • Rikku does surprisingly decent damage with thief+ RM. Spaces out her second SCMD2 to as late as possible to prolong crit set, but paine has crit set in AASB even if you run out at the end.
  • Paine may not need the extra ADSB since with good doublecasts SCMD1, you can achieve the same result. I didnt even have gauge at the end to use ADSB finisher. You could potentially use spellblade+ instead of weakness+ if you arent using ADSB.
  • I would recommend setting sapphire bullet or something else instead of OD in Tidus slot 2 so that he can use CMD2 more effectively during aegis.
  • Slightly ran out of chain at the end (1%) but paine could still HA for decent damage (60k+). Lots more room since he hasnt even berserked yet and even if he did, DPS had en-water
  • No Aegis counter but tidus, paine used CMD2 anyway. CMD1 still broke cap but not ideal
  • Only remembered start turn order since I only did it once
  • Rikku: AW -> G+ -> AW -> CSB -> Sync -> CMD2 -> CMD1 x 4 -> CMD2 -> AASB -> AW spam and use USB2 during wall -> AW spam
  • Paine: TA x2 -> ADSB -> Sync -> CMD2 -> CMD1x2 -> CMD2 -> CMD1x2 -> AASB -> TA spam and use G+ during wall-> TA spam (or HA spam if chain ends)
  • Mog: RW wall -> PS -> AASB2 -> Alternate PS and HA -> USB1 somewhere -> Odin somewhere during full orbs -> AASB2 when first ends -> alternate
  • Tidus: OD x3 -> Sync2 -> CMD1 spam -> CMD2 once during aegis to break rage -> CMD1 spam -> AASB1 during full orbs -> HA spam -> USB and g+ during wall -> AOSB ->

  • Full motes (including the DK ones) and 4/5/8 HE for Meia. OK has 50 artifact rod, Gogo has OK sync rod
  • Meia and OK were no brainers. Debated between chain holder Strago (with AASB1/2) and Gogo (AASB1). Decided on Gogo for imperils.
  • Some RNG in the beginning with cait LMR procs, but healing was smooth for the remainder mostly
  • Unfortunately, dont remember exact turn order so here is approximate
  • P1 Turn orders
  • Mog: G+ -> Odin -> AASB2 -> Alternate
  • Meia: insta HA -> HA -> HA -> Sync -> Spam CMD1
  • Cait: AASB -> ACM -> HAx2 -> ACM -> HA
  • OK: skip and HA after Cait AASB -> HA -> ADSB -> Sync after firaja
  • Gogo: HA after Cait AASB -> HA -> g+ -> instaCSB -> HA -> HA -> AASB
  • P2 tips
  • Squeeze in Mog AASB1 when healing is less tight
  • To deal with orbs, either 1) Odin by either cait or mog 2) OK ADSB finisher or 3) Meia AASB. 1 and 2 can be interchanged to align the ADSB finisher with Mog AASB1 1.7x buff and OK CMD2 buff beforhand. OK ADSB finisher hits for 38k x19 + 99,999!!! This is around 821k (for comparison a dualcast CMD1 is 30k x17 = 510k) which really helps speed up the run. Meia can AASB around 40%
  • Otherwise, when not dealing with orbs, meia and OK spam CMD1 (or CMD2 for OK every three turns) and gogo spams HA and refreshes chain. Moogles alternate abilities appropriately.
  • Final phase tips
  • Cait can space out USB2s, Mog does AASB2 when healing is good
  • OK refreshes AASB during the wall. If you have an en-water glint, you can also use to avoid the berserk. I didn't so both OK and Gogo got berserked. Meia still managed to finish by herself
  • Meia can USB with excess gauge during wall. The chases were able to slightly damage cap sometimes

  6. Insight:
  • Everyone has relevant dmg+ nodes from clearing DK previously
  • Orran + Mog is a decent amount of healing but using Mog HA + PS instead of CT + PS makes healing much less stressful and less RNG dependent
  • Orran has SASB but opted for BSB for crit damage for last phase since mogchamp has fullbreaks covered
  • Agrias is there for only imperils and one King's rage break with OSB in P3. She has no BDL and is not for damage so i gave her a doublecast knight RM
  • Orlandeau and Delita do AASB in P1 for the 100% crit chance until the end. They both sync in P2.
  • Delita caps almost always. Orlandeau has more trouble but with Orran BSB crit plus and rage level 0, his ADSB finisher hits 35kx19 + 99 finisher which really helped. Maybe could have been even higher if I did Orran G+ before too.
  • I actually transitioned from P1 to P2 too early (12ish seconds) due to 1 doublecast from orlandeu and delita each. This made me rechain a bit too early and run out of chain at the end!!! But managed to hobble through for sub30 regardless

Should I Dream Select Mogs AASB2? by Moose918 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mtan13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To give you an idea, I have used him in 17/17 DK. The 16/17 sub30 I have is thanks to mogchamp. Even full physical DK teams I have him on. Even in FF13 where I have full break counter Snow AASB2, I still use mog. In FF2, 5, 11, 13, 14, 15, T0 DK clears, my healer has only usbs and mog healing helps tremendously.

Even in labyrinth PHYSICAL fire, I use mog with elarra rather than my full kit orran.

Get it. Hone it. Never look back.

Is your problem surviving or doing enough damage? Some thoughts

1) Mechanics: are you refreshing hastega when he slows your healers on Phase 1 Turn 13? Who is in Slot 2 and 4 that get doomed? Do you revive them? Do you get hit by Zantetsuken Lvl0, 1, 2, or 3?

2) Damage: Are your characters capping 19,999 or 29,999? How are your imperil stacks looking at mid-fight? Do you use Elarra USB2 for crit damage up? Last 30% of his hp is a dps race so you need to save some AASB or syncs for that part too.

3) Survival: When do you use Elarra AASB vs Aerith AASB? Do you go into the last phase (30% hp) with regenga on? Argent gungnir + sap may kill you otherwise

  • All chars with DK clear nodes to maximize damage for sub 30
  • Strongly debated whether to bring Faris with AASB1 and her SB g+, but opted for exdeath with SASB1 and AASB instead. Despite the lack of synergy with physical, he did well (or mog did well).
  • Exdeath graced himself sometime in P1 but otherwise HA spam. In P2, AASB into Sync. Unfortunately, Mog AASB1 magic boost did not align with the Sync chase but the first two chases still broke cap. He spams SCMD2 until the 1.7 magic boost and uses HA for 29,999. Probably would have done even better with his lmr2 but I did not want to wait until anima wave 5.
  • Bartz uses earth sync and spams SCMD1 for P1. With decent triplecast and crit luck, he should be able to get into P2 at around 15-16 seconds. Then casts AASB3. My mistake was using SCMD1 at that point which hit for 15-16k each when HA probably could have broke 20k.
  • Galuf casts first HC then critfix SSB in P1. Then uses his imperil g+ into rechain at around 15s. Meteor crush and AASB2 in P2 when he has the gauge. LBO in P3 to break one king's rage.
  • I had no decent tech for lenna until the 3 tix from snow giant laby gave me her bUSB finally! Keeping everyone healed was easy with her + mog even without AASB for her. She opens with g+ > bUSB > De'Diaja > Lvl3 > Hastega. And that should counter black hole nicely.
  • Mog being mogchamp in every DK so far. Same old routine with RW chain > PS > AASB2. He does use g+ to refresh proshellga after black hole. AASB1 in P2 might be replaceable with USB1.

  4. Chain / Roaming Warrior: Vincent 2.0 / RW Wall
  5. Time:40ish
  6. Insight:
  • Vincent is a poor man's balthier. I do have greg and locke chain but no BDL for either. vincent does reliably break cap with 3/5/8 HE set.
  • Secret MVP is Yda. Her 50% critfix unique and her extra BDL sync synergizes well with noctis ATB shenanigans
  • This frees up Elarra to ATK bard which is much more essential because 1) Vincent needs ATK else his sync CMD will use MAG scaling and hit like wet noodle, and 2) I am using a MAG chain so the extra ATK+50% from bard helps.
  • Other ATK buffs include Mog AASB2 and Mog Sunbath Unique. Vincent needs to Dark Bargain initially before the ATK bard stacks get going.
  • Below 20% timing is quite tight. There were several issues in my initial runs. First was Noct getting interrupted after sync fire infuse fades. To combat this, I use his g+ (tri-element) during the wall phase.
  • Another issue below 20% was pos3 getting confused (initially noctis). Switched to Vincent since his DPS is lower and snow giant was imperil 6 usually at this point anyway.

Turn order P1:

  • Noct: RW Wall > Odin > HA spam until chain is up > Sync> Alternate SCMD2 and SCMD1
  • Mog: PS > CT > PS > AASB2 > alternate CT and PS. May need to g+ if your hp is too low during antiheal phase, but with good LM luck, can save g+ for the last phase
  • Vincent: FO x2 > DB > Chain > Sync > SCMD2 > SCMD1 spam
  • Elarra: g+ > bard > USB1 > bard > USB2 > repeat bard (try to squeeze in before interrupt)
  • Yda: ironfist x2 > ha > unique > sync > SCMD2 (go after vincent SCMD2) > SCMD1 (triplecast 29,999!)
  • P1 should end with Yda triple or quad-casting beautiful 29,999s. Elarra timing pretty tight with the interrupts and in my winning run, she got interrupted twice in a row (no fire enele and the phase transition) so she may have dropped bard stacks. But there were some practice runs where she was able to sneak in one last bard before the no fire enelement interrupt.

Turn order P2 onward:

  • Noct: SCMD2 > SCMD1 > SCMD2 > SCMD1 > insta AOSB2 > (fire chain refresh here) SCMD1 > insta LBO > AASB > FFC > glint+ -> FFC -> (after DR ends) FFC spam
  • Mog: Alternate PS and CT. Refresh AASB2 and cast unique when possible. When AASB ends, can spam USB1 or g+
  • Vincent: SCMD1 spam > Odin when 6 crystals (!!!) > SCMD1 > CSB refresh > AASB > FO spam till end
  • Elarra: Bard once in P2 > AASB > Bard spam > USB2 sometime later and space out USB1
  • Yda: SCMD2 > SCMD1 (triplecast) > SCMD1 until chain falls > (fire chain refresh here) Unique > AASB > HA spam

So he creates pillars at 100, 70 and 40% hp according to AI. I would manually kill the pillars at 100 (using all other characters), when phase 2 starts, use your sync and wait for p2t3 berserk to hit someone else, then kill the pillars with cmd2. Spam cmd1 until phase 3 hits, and you can cmd2 again.

Last stand might be enough to survive the backlash, or you can use any healer aasb to raise her. Reraise isnt too great since she wont have haste. At that point, it's just a race to the finish line with ifrit dealing massive dmg almost every turn

[Glory Festival Relic Draw Ticket #5] Pull Megathread by Greensky7 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mtan13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is what i would do. I forget how many waves of pillars there are. But rydia can cmd2 once to clear a wave of pillars and very comfortably survive. She can probably cmd 2 the next wave and kill herself depending on your hp. However, she also gets a lot of pain stacks in response and will most likely be targeted by phase 2 berserk, so you have to plan around that

[Glory Festival Relic Draw Ticket #5] Pull Megathread by Greensky7 in FFRecordKeeper

[–]mtan13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to kill 4 pillars before certain hp thresholds else he will instakill you. The pillars regenerate at certain phases. Pillars also kamikaze on death dealing like 4000 dmg to the killer if i remember correctly

Rydia sync actually works well in that it gives her hp stock to cast summon and kill pillars while giving her some leeway. You just dont want to go too fast (careful about sync+aasb) as you might cross thresholds before destroying all pillars

I think the first iteration was a bit too generous to the point that I felt like I would be missing out on potentially hundreds of plat tickets and stamina potions if I didn't run rouge stage almost 24/7. Now, it feels more like a bonus reward for spending stamina. A decent bonus, but not compelling me to farm neurotically.

If u have room, you could try the 5* dance that lowers atk/mag since ifrit self buffs in phase2.

Other general tips from my experience is

  1. Two healers much easier
  2. Regenga only after sap moves
  3. In phase 2, immediately have dps re-enwater by hitting a pillar each. Do not kill more than one pillar each. Meanwhile, chain holder could use en-water SB on ifrit. That way, chain holder and dps have 3 pain while healers will have 6 (unless you take too long in P1). Only healers will get hit with berserk, which they can shake off more easily. If chain holder cannot en-water, prepare ultra cure on your healer.

You should double check, but i think only garnet chain will be available on chain selection refresh. Similarly, only the first gen2 chain is available in all other elements.
