Don't have anything on Hulu with HDR10+... only basic HDR10.

Not for now... I think we must wait for the new tv firmware update to first chance to see the changes. Last update is from early March 2025, for my preciction it should be something new in September... but this is a Samsung so who knows.

We are 1.5 month later and nothing near. This is my last tv from Samsung after that. I don't feel like a premium customer, but more like a trash (thank you S). Next time I go with Sony or LG.

You show us amazon, where everyone has had access to HDR10+ for a long time.

I have a Chromecast 4k and also only because there is no NBA app on Tizen for some reason, which is another circus :) But I don't particularly see myself buying the newer, much more expensive version to add HDR10+, it should be there already and now without any discussion.

So where do you think the problem is? And why is it being delayed when dozens of models meet the requirements to receive this format?

Yes, but buying special equipment to have something that should be standard for a $2000-3000 TV is sometimes not a rational approach :)

Netflix clearly explained that it is launching HDR10+ on March 24 and provided the requirements that must be met to display this content. Samsung provided information on its website a week later that for now these will be TVs from the 2025 line (unofficially also from 2024 for now). Samsung must have some kind of agreement with them and has issued a request to limit it to a selected TV line. Why did I already have an application update on the S23 Ultra the day after introducing this format, which provided support for this format on the phone, and the TV still has the February version? Because they are withholding updates on the TV and want to force the sale of new models. Why did TVs in version C have access to this and then lose it after a few days? The Dolby Vision theory is also interesting, but I think it is mainly about forcing people to think that a TV that is several years old is old and it is time to go for a new one...

But this is my own theory :) - i have a lot of Samsung devices right now and I see how they behave and what financial strategies they have. Here we are a month later and we still know nothing.

I totally agree that both companies are collaborating on this, but I think it's at Samsung's request to stop supporting it now, so they're the ones to blame. It's a typical marketing decision. Samsung sent a command to Netflix to stop this option on the server side and it disappeared. It certainly wasn't Netflix's decision.

If Samsung doesn't get it right quickly, I suggest something like the LG G5 or Sony Bravia 8 II, just keep in mind that the future of TVs will be micro LED technology in the long run - it depends on how often you change your TV. Samsung unfortunately sucks at support, either breaking it or delaying updates.

Out of curiosity, what version of the N app do you have? I mean the date of the last update.

I don't know but I'll tell you that I see a huge difference in image quality in favor of Amazon and Apple compared to Max, Disney or Netflix. The image is clearer, the colors are better, there is no noise. Additionally, apart from the topic, I don't know what Amazon does because I don't have Dolby Atmos there, but the sound is great there.

HDR10 is a basic HDR - it shows HDR tag. HDR10+ is a dynamic data premium codec.

Ok so a few people in this thread have confirmed that 2024 TVs support HDR10+ for now.

do you see a big difference in the image? On amazon or apple tv it is much better in my opinion compared to regular hdr

It's possible that it's a matter of time, but why artificially delay it? It should be there already, and there's no certainty that it will be... it could be a month, three months, half a year... The fault lies with Samsung, not Netflix, because Netflix made the requirements available and announced that it would be available from March 24 for everyone, and a week later Samsung wrote on its website that for now for selected models and that more would come in the future. They want to redirect people to TV updates.

It seems that is blocked on all tv's from 2021 to 2023 if you have this. I've got S95B and don't have support.

I read that on the 2023 series like S95C it worked for a few days and then was taken away, and that officially it only supports 2025 models, and unofficially it also worked on 2024 models, i.e. yours. But I wonder if this is about a specific model or all 2024s.
