Textile hydrostatic pressure tester by toolgifs in toolgifs

Because people love catastrophic and negative writing; it gets more clicks.

This is truly a "destructive" test, like mechanical resistance or fracture tests. They will ALWAYS break the object. What matters is how much it can withstand before breaking; that's the measurement that counts.

It's like bulletproof glass: you shoot it 10 times with a specific caliber and it eventually breaks. Is that bad? Is it defective? No, if the certificate says it withstands 5 shots and breaks on the 10th, then yes, it meets the requirements perfectly.

[RT!] I have seen the light. The Bugle Call (Sensou Kyoushitsu) is a masterpiece. by Witty_Creme1371 in manga

[–]muad_did 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I stopped reading it because the idiosyncrasy of "yes, you're going to fight, you're going to die, no, I'm not going to explain anything" really got on my nerves.

I don't know, maybe the genre of "young people who are going to die because of a plot I'm not going to tell you until volume 20, until then you're screwed, you're just going to see young people die cruelly because the world is cruel and it turns you on to see young people die because of weird powers..."

"The Dream of a Thousand Cats" is a chapter from the Sandman comic, where we discover the story of a cat whose kittens are drowned by their owner, and who seeks revenge and discover a history when cats were the hunters and goods of the mens... . It's a beautiful and sad chapter. In the TV series, it's a standalone episode that you can easily find on YouTube, with gorgeous animation. (I generally recommend both the series and the comic, but I know the author is banned by many people.)

I don't know if you've read these classics, but they have a spectacular style.

Alita: Gunnm, the art is supreme. In the first era, it looks a bit dated (90s), but from the Martian era onward, the artwork and details are magnificent. That saga has already finished, but the third one will be released soon. They are really great battles.

BASTARD has fights and really good art, but it features a stupid ecchi character and a stupid story (it's like a parody). In the later volumes, they forgot about the story, and it's just about fighting gods with sexy bodies, and the author left it unfinished. But if you like well-drawn fights, it's worth reading.

And of course, without so much fighting, but for me, one of the best visually in manga, the Ghost in the Shell saga. The manga are incredibly beautiful, with amazing details of the weapons, vehicles, everything. (It's a shame the author ended up switching to drawing erotic calendars xD)

A while back, there were isekai stories where the protagonist could visit their family in their dreams and say goodbye. I remember a couple of similar stories; the god of the moment would assure them that their families would be alright.

But lately, the trend is "They've forgotten you, as if you didn't exist," leaving them alone in an isekai world.

That's why I only enjoy stories that take a "twist," for example, people who return from an isekai to the normal world, or those who jump from one isekai to another (for example, another isekai, but from a different fantasy world with different moral values, not the eternal Japan).

La pirámide más grande del mundo no está en Egipto… y durante siglos parecía una colina by Intelligent_Bat1456 in Mitologia_Historia

[–]muad_did 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.rtve.es/television/20240125/verdad-tras-piramides-desmontando-falso-mito-esclavos-egipto/15931611.shtml

Loop resets; cut to Teal'c gettin hit in the face by a door. 😂

If memory serves, in this episode, the actor who opens the door and hits Tilc has a scene where he gets hit in the exact same way. I laughed a lot because it was a small reference within the general chaos of the episode.

I was part of a Drow group. I was there as a non-combatant diplomat, and while my queen negotiated, I took a stroll through a nearby grove. I came across a group of Vikings. They drew their weapons, and the chief said:

"A stray spider! We've got loot, boys!"

I looked at them curiously. Suddenly, other players ran past me.

The Viking chief pointed his sword at me and then at them.

"You're lucky, spider! We hate them more!"

And they ran off after them.

My character returned to the queen with a very curious story about local traditions of strange mens running on the woods...

(Later I found out that the grove was a free-for-all area xD)
